My brother just finished 9th Grade. He got a 740 on the SAT2 Biology. He shouldn't take it again should he (unless he takes AP Biology in like 11th or 12th grade)?

740 is a solid score? (that's what I got like 5 years ago as well)

Hey I remember your post concerning your brother and prep books. 740 is a very solid score. I am also in the same position as your brother. I just finished 9th Grade and got my Sat Biology results back. Unless he is going to take Ap Bio I wouldn't recomend retaking it.

740 is very good. If he takes AP bio i would recommend taking the test over, but otherwise the score is fine. 740 is even a good score for the most competitive colleges, but it's probably better to have 770+ for places like HYPS.

I got a 750, I'm also going to be a sophomore and I'm taking AP Bio as a junior. Would it be better for me to retake? Will a 750 hurt my chances at getting into HYPS?

Why didn't you guys just wait until AP Bio? 740 is a good enough score, but why not wait and get a little higher? It's not like you have to take all your SATIIs before sophomore year.

Anyways, he shouldn't retake it, unless he doesn't have anything else to do.

Well I didn't take Ap Bio and still got a 790. I think a lot of people including me like to take it in 9th grade because everything is fresh in your memory. Also a lot of stuff in Ap Bio is not in Sat 2 Bio.

lol people on this site never fail to crack me up, "oh no, a 750 vs. a 770". HPYS et all are not worried about the one question that separated these two people. They want to see people that will accept that score, and then move on and accomplish something real with the time they have. I got a 730 on Chem, and an 800 on IIC, im not flipping out about chem just because i did what i could do and thats that, im doing something meaningful with the rest of my time.
