My Business plan...good idea?

hey.i'm in the 10th grade, and i really wanna persue a degree in business AND one in medicine, so i like wanna have 2 majors. so, i was wondering if this was a good college plan: Undergraduate at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania THEN Graduate Business School at Harvard University THEN Medicine at Yale University. Is this a good idea for someone (me) who wants to become like the VP of Pfizer?

You should pick either the business path or the pre-med path. There's no way you can do both and you don't even need it.

Lol, it's good to know some kids have such high aspirations for themselves.

While this is possible to do, it's easy for you to say all of this as a sophomore in high school. However it's not very wise to do. Research both fields for the next two years in high school and figure out what's right for you. Then you can plan on other stuff like what college you want to go to.

I don't want to be discouraging but what you are telling us you want to do, you will be in college for A WHILE.

I am not sure how the medical entrance exams are but you are going to get your business degree at Wharton in 4 years while you take your pre-med classes. Then after you graduate, you work for 2-4 years (work experience) get into an MBA program at Harvard and do that for 2 years, then once you graduate you get into Yale medical school and do that for like 4 years, and then after you graduate and get your MD you do your residency for another 5 extra years?

While you're at it, get a Harvard law degree.

go to wharton (for business)for undergrad and you'll be very well off and take pre-med reqs so u can apply to med school

and why do you only want to be VP and not like a CEO or something

well, thanks for the help...well, my main major i wanna do is business->so does this sound more realistic?- 4 years as a wharton undergrad with a minor in medicine, then go to harvard for businesss with a minor in med/- cause i dont think i need the whole med thing (maybe a lil bit of it) to become a vp of pfizer, cause im not gonna become a doctor or surgeion....as long as it sounds realistic im fine-> I dont care how much time i spend in college, even if its a lotta money, whether its 4 years or 14 years im cool with it

and...do ihave to get a residency?...cause im not gonna practice

Dude, all you need is a business degree from a decent school and you can apply to companies like Pfizer and other similar ones that are in the healthcare industry. You can also get an MBA and work your way to the top (VP).

I am not sure why you think you need a medical background to get into that company. You can minor in biology or chemistry if you really feel the need.

And I am pretty sure most medical schools require that you do a residency after graduating....after all, almost every med student wants to be a doctor or surgeon.

Go to Wharton and take medical related classes on the side. Pursue internships at related companies. After doing all of that then I'm sure you will have a good idea of what you need to do going forward from there. However, my expectation is that you will not need to get an MD and may never need an MBA either...certainly won't want to get an MBA right after graduating from Wharton.

BRAINTEASER, ALL YOU
MD/MBA Joint Degree - MBA - Harvard Business School

That is....crazy. Well now you are set, brainteaser955.

$$$

Great work, kmzizzle. That was impressive.

lol when i first read "business plan," I thought I was looking at an aspiring entrepreneur.

easier said then done.

college is much tougher than high school.

VP positions are saved for people with MBA's and a record of growth and creativity. This education plan spans probably a decade so you'll be in your late 20's-early 30's with no work experience and only paper. I would go to Wharton then get a sales job while you work on your MBA at Harvard (or if you place well enough get your company to pay for an E-MBA). Then start the climb. A degree in medicine might only be useful ONCE you are in a company like Pfizer and you are trying to set yourself apart from other MBA's. But the path to a VP position is not linear so I would count on figuring out where you want work (geographically) because that will be a main factor in how far you'll go.

penn doesnt offer a medicine minor...
