My California SSID Isn't 10 Digits Long!

When the UC App asks me for my Cali State Student ID, it tells me that my 5 digit ID isn't correct and needs to be 10 digits long.

Which is odd considering last year in the application, of which I still have saved, I jotted down my 5 digit ID and it worked.

So what would be the best way to add it?

29348XXXXX

or

XXXXX29375

?

(Assuming the X's are all 0's)

2nd Note:

I think the 5 digits number is your high school student ID#, which is not the same as CSSID#. Look at your high school transcript. If you can’t find it on your HS transcript, contact your HS admission office tomorrow.

The 5 digits on my H.S. Transcript have been my ID since I first entered elementary school; it’s always been the same 5 digits.

Upon reviewing my H.S. transcript I can confirm that’s the only ID # on there.

I’m a bit scared to jot it down, but then again I did put down this very same ID # on my UC app last year with no issues having arisen.

Dammit!

Perhaps it’ll be best to stop the app process now considering i’m at the “submit” pane and go get it reviewed by someone at my CCC tomorrow before hitting enter.

Is it supposed to be 8 digits? Mine’s 8 digits and I’m guessing there are 2 zeros that go either before or after the 8 digits for the whole 10 digit number. Can someone tell me if this is correct and if so where to place the zeros.

I thought the same thing but I contacted my high school registrar about it and she gave me a whole new number that I had never seen before. But it was 10 digits so I’m assuming that’s the right one.

It will be a 10 digit number. If you get a copy of your HS transcript, you will probably see it somewhere. The number you had since elementary I think is the district’s number. I’ve had a 6digit number that I carried through elementary-highschool, but I found a new one in the transcript.

When I contacted my HS they gave me 10 digit number… it’s probably best to call your HS Admissions office like stated from above.

I just contacted my school’s registrar and it is a completely different number. I think in the OP their district number like someone mentioned is being mistaken as the CSSID. I made the same mistake, they’re NOT the same. As previously mentioned it should appear on your transcript, if you don’t have it with you, you should be able to call your school like I did and they can look up your records and provide it to you immediately.

Guys, so I called my HS and turns out that 10 digit number was totally different from the one I was thinking of, which is great considering i’ve already made the change on my app and submitted it.

Good luck to all!
