Hey guys,

I got in my first choice US college via the ED2... So I immediately withdrew all my other applications to US colleges...

However, I also got an acceptance offer from a UK University and expect 3 others...should I withdraw my application from the UK Universities??? Do I violate the ED agreement??? Or I can receive their offers and then reject them??? ( as I really want to attend the US College I got in---> it's my dream school!)

Thanks in advance... I am looking forward to reading your responses...

I am in the exact same situation, and I did a bit of research.ED only applies to colleges in the US.So,there is no real need to withdraw your UK apps. You can,but it wont be an issue.

If you don’t want to attend college in the UK anymore then withdraw your application and decline any offers you have - it’s not like ED, nobody will care or even notice.

I wanna have the back up…
If something happens (eg my grades fall for a reason and the US college withdraw its initial admission offer or somethnig…)… I just wanna have the ability to chose…you never know…and if that doesn’t violate the ED agreement…then why should I reject the offers now or withdraw my application from the other UK Unis??? Afterall, UK Unis give u a lot of tme to make your final decision…I could take advantage of that???

Yes,do NOT withdraw your UK apps, always have a plan B.Anything could happen,(you could change your mind, your US visa could be denied etc).Just keep your options open.

As long as it is not affect my acceptance to Midd I am going to follow your advice macmil. thanks…
If anyone has another opinion or knows anything about the issue, I am really interested to reading his/her views…

Then again, if your grades drop by far enough that your US choice rejects you, you’d be unlikely to meet the UK unis offers (assuming both are top flight unis). ED does mean you have to go to Middlebury (?- if the offer isn’t withdrawn) if you attend university at all next year though
