My CC has the most annyoing morons

Oh I was talking to the creator of the thread. The one with the broken english who shares too much information and I didn’t even realize this thread was now 10 pages, sorry for any confusion!

can the OP lock his own thread?

i thought that was a job for the admin

Why lock it? The fun just started to come in.

You do realize you wont be able to get anything out of arguing with Pinker on here, right?

Yeah, he’s kind of just practicing his rhetoric on me, and I’m just having fun as well.

No harm done really. It’s all in good fun.

no it’s boring

kiji, to clarify, i never said that i was in favor of one or the other. neither was i saying anything about what the differences are… but ONLY that there are differences (and then later, that arguing for or against their existence is frivolous).

at this juncture, i think it’s clear that no matter what i say, you’ll constantly shift your argument, or your question, or your application of fallacies, or your demands, or whatsoever, to suit your pre-determined opinion.

it’s been fun.

separately, but not entirely off-topic: http://fstdt.com/

Pinker, you’re taking too long, let me help you out. Arguing over the internet is more ■■■■■■■■ because it’s so readily available. In real life we are not bombarded with such heated debates where ever we go, and we like that. When it comes to the internet heated debates can spark up out of nowhere, and we do NOT like that. Thus we call it ■■■■■■■■.

You took so long that I had to come up with an argument FOR you.

Well I hope that I have at least shown that arguing over their differences(regarding stupidity) is possible and fruitful, since I have named one MAJOR difference for both sides.

It has been fun though.

(Lol conspiracy theorists do say the darnest things, lol @ Alex Jones. )

you’re right man, you win.
the world works just as you perceive it.
please, tell us more about how it really is.

Actually the only reason I argue is because I don’t think the world works as I perceive it, otherwise I’d just assume I’m right and refuse to even discuss all other world views.

If you are asking me to discuss the metaphysical ontology of reality, I’m afraid I don’t have a solid perception of it. It seems that one can not formulate such ontology without many assumed axioms. In other words, I don’t know how reality works. (I am joking if you can’t tell. )

for the sake of arguing, (well hypothetically, if this ever happened before) lets say youre wrong about your perception of the world kkiiji , how would you handle reality then?

Complaining about the standards of a community college explains so much about why you are there in the first place. In my eyes, you are no better than the “morons” of which you speak. You should not be worried about why things are a certain way if its all expendable to you anyway, right? You’ll be transferring in a semester or so, so my advice, just grin and bear it. Sorry if I am being a little insensitive but, honestly, complaining about something on an anonymous forum does not change it. We all have things to deal with that we don’t like (university or otherwise). But, c’est la vie!

I’d strive to overcome my flawed perception of reality and flawed way of life in order to achieve greater heights. In fact that’s how I get my thrills, I kind of hate it when I’m too right about something, it gets boring. Oh hell yes it has happened before, like I said on one of the pages before this, I was an absolute IDIOT in high school. Not that I’m all that great now, but that overcoming one’s shortcomings is often more fun than praising oneself’s strengths.

samisona, no one’s trying to change anything.
it’s therapeutic to vent.
lighten up.

overcome your flaw? of being wrong? so in turn, you will be right again? so technically, you will try your best to eventually overcome your “wrongness” to prove that youre right? even in a hypothetical situation where youre wrong…

thats good, never give up…

I suppose that’s a way of looking at it. It’s more of a way of getting the most out of life by being a true free spirit, unbounded by dogmatic ideals. It’s not necessarily about being right, but about improvement, about growth, about really living. The fun is in the struggle, not the end result of being right.

I mean if you think about it, what does it mean to feel true freedom? Isn’t it a feeling where you are unsure of how things work? Uncertain of what you must do and how you must live? Free to become? A person can not be free and think he is right all the time, the uncertainty is where the magic is at.

how ironic…please tell me you see the irony/hypocrisy in your statement…

i like your input tho, easy to say, hard to do…

I don’t really see it, I did start arguing for the opposing side towards the end didn’t I? Not in jest either, the sheer volume of debates over the internet is blatantly overwhelming comparing to real life. Isn’t it? In a very real way that does make argument over the internet irritating and ■■■■■■■■.

Unless of course you’re referring to the fact that what I have stated is an ideology in itself. This is true, but I can not think of a ideology that FEELS more free. If so, then what is the problem? If being a free spirit makes one less than free, then we’re just getting caught up on abstract rationalization aren’t we?

stop you idiots

and roll…
