My CC Journey

I’m with JamesGold on this one

I think this post is almost perfect. I just have one criticism. Hardly anybody even gets a 2100+ on the SAT…that’s already a high percentile. I myself will be happy if I can get a 2100. There is a limit. It’s not so easy to just “study” for most people. I try so hard and struggle with any standardized tests.

^ You seem to forget this is CC, a site which definitely does not accurately represent HS student demographics as a whole.

I think if you spend the time to research the SAT prep forum for EVERYTHING you can find, and practice enough, then you can do it. I had a 193 on my PSAT the first time I took it and it just kept going higher because I practiced more. The main problem is probably approach - you have to consciously believe that you can score perfect and work from there.

This thread makes me so proud of everyone. We’ve spent a long time on this board together, and it is nice to see our work come to fruition.

Kudos to you An0maly, and good luck at Yale.

Good luck to you at Rice Tilgaham!

I was rereading this today, and it’s still nice for me to review

Great post!

Congratulations on all of your achievements. Your post is very optimistic but shows that it is possible to overcome the many obstacles of life with determined effort.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

This is my first post on CC. I realize this is quite a late reply to this topic, but I was reading around CC today and the stories here have hit home for me. Thank you An0maly and others for posting. Coming also from a home where my parents aren’t exactly in tune with my education, I’ve been able to really relate to your story and it has inspired me for my admissions journey next year. Hope Yale has been especially spendid. Perhaps I’ll be there in 2 years.

Anomaly: Great post. I will be at Yale this fall, so could you PM me any advice?
