My CCC (Foothill) is late in sending in my IGETC certification

Hey guys,

Even though I requested that my IGETC certification be sent to UCSD back in April, my CCC didn't start working on it until now when the spring quarter grades came out even though I had already finished all the IGETC relevant courses last quarter. My last grade only came out last friday and Foothill is saying that they have a big backlog of IGETC certifications that they are trying to send out. They told me that there is a good chance they won't be able to send it to UCSD in time (postmarked by July 15) So then I spoke with an admissions rep at UCSD and they said that they will make an exception for me since they also received an email from Foothill College stating that they are late in sending in the certifications. I am still a bit nervous though. The rep took my PID and said she will make a note in my file and I also got her name. Do you guys think that is enough? Do I need a more formal confirmation from UCSD? I don't want to make it sound like I am pestering them but I don't want to risk my admission being canceled over something like this. Is anyone else experiencing delays in getting their CCC to send in their IGETC certifications to the UCs? Thanks!

i’m from de anza, with a similar deal. i try calling, they don’t answer. finally, i emailed and then they said

"hi-

We have lost all our receptionist and admin staff due to state budget cuts
and have only students working. Sorry you were unable to
reach anyone.

We also have graduation, igetc certs, final transcripts, and other pending emergency paperwork piled up in stacks and not enough staff. So we are working as fast as we can. I have forwarded your email to Evaluations and they might get back to you in the next few weeks or so.

Write your legislators about how CA education isn’t funded sufficient for
you to get the services you need."

^^^^^^word for word. so i better not be penalized when all my stuff gets to UCLA super late!

wow HigherHopes I can’t believe they emailed that. its a shame the state doesn’t fund education as it should.

Have you talked to UCLA about this? Will they accept your IGETC certification late?

UCLA will accept your IGETC Certification up until September 1st. They’re more worried about your final transcript(s) which are due next week.

oh thats good for you guys that are going to UCLA you have time. UCSD wants IGETC done by July 15.

Oh damn. =/ I originally thought that UCLA would want the IGETC Certification by July 15th as well (along with our final transcript) but then I realized that all the UCs give you the summer prior to your first quarter/semester at the UC to finish IGETC which would then give you until September to turn in your summer transcripts, along with the certification.

Wait, Foothill hasn’t sent them out yet???I go to Foothill too and I wasn’t aware of this…I turned my IGETC form on the Thursday of finals week and handed it in person to the lady who does it…

sugary: I am not sure if they have sent any out for sure so you should call up and check

yeah i plan on doing that tomorrow and asking about my transcripts too x.x;

thanks for reminding me about it, i thought it would be all okay after i dropped it off :(

I just checked MyBerkeleyApp and it says I am IGETC Certified! Foothill sent in mine correctly/on time… o_O…

I turned it in to the counselor’s office on the last day of finals

Status Requirement Code
Received - Final IGETC cert rec’d 3

Don’t mean to thread hi-jack here, but are you allowed to just show up at the UC campus you’ve applied to and submit IGETC Certification + final transcripts in person? I’m looking to transfer to UCSD and I live less than an hour away… I feel like I’d rather drive down there myself and hand it in that way.
