My chance at MIT...

Before we get to the STATS let me give a little history...
I am Hispanic... was in the special education program until the sixth grade (they took me out because I finally learned to read at an okay level). I had reading problems which seriously held me back (I barely made it out if the six grade). Now, I am an honor student with the following stats...keep in mind that I am still working on my reading and writing skills (in Spanish and English).

From the Bronx New York....

SAT: M 650 (very low), CR 580 (lower) , W 540 (no comment)......
SAT II: Physics 760, math Ic 650, US history 660

Rank: 9th in grad class of 745
GPA: 3.95 uw

Intended major: Materials Science and Engineering
Both interviews went well—especially MIT.

Oh…. I also have a couple of mathematical equations under my belt...the papers aren't finished yet, but from my research they are original. Some of the equations involve the Golden Ratio (phi [1.618]) which is a special number like pi). I sent copies of my equations and how I derived them to MIT and CMU.
