Even though I am a pretty well rounded student, I am seriously passionate science, math, and economics. My teacher recs should be pretty good and so will my essays.

Thanks for any responses :)

Please reply my friends. I am very nervous.

You’re in, man. If I were you, I would apply to the top 10 schools.

You’re taking mostly IB courses, your scores are good, and so are your ECs. I would apply to schools like Williams, Wesleyan, Swarthmore, etc. But of course, if your heart is set on Scripps, then go for it! :)

write a great essay, apply ED, and look at your other options just in case (I suggest Agnes Scott, Barnard, and Mount Holyoke).

Thanks for the responses :)

Hi, I am a current Scripps student '18 and your chances seem much higher than mine were. My GPA wasn’t as high as yours, my weighted GPA was about 3.9 by the end of senior year (lower when I applied), and though my newspaper got 1st place best of show consistently (and first place at the san diego convention) I was far from editor in chief.

What really sold it for me was the interview because scripps really wants its students to be a certain type of personality. So if you can convey why you’d be a good fit for the school (passionate, driven, confident, caring, curious, wanting to learn all the things!) then your chance goes up significantly. Try conveying that in your Why Scripps essay, because it will really help make you a standout from the tons of other high stats people who are applying. There’s been a high yield rate so it’s getting more competitive.

I was for sure thinking I wouldn’t get into my first choice yet here I am. I think the interview and my personal statement sold it. Scripps is definitely looking for “Scrippsies” who are a certain kind of person and if the interviewer can envision you thriving in Core and stuff, and seeing you in the hall (though she won’t because it’ll be a senior) then your chances are so so much better.

Definitely apply if she really likes Scripps. It seems she would be a top applicant so a good shot at getting merit aid!
