What are my chances at Wellesley if I apply ED? Please chance me :)))

It certainly looks to me as though you have a good chance! Wellesley places a lot of emphasis on the personal essays and letters of recommendation, so be sure not to neglect those.

Colleges won’t automatically see your AP scores - I believe you can self-report them, if you choose, on the Common Application. But unlike ACT or SAT test scores, you only send AP scores to the school you plan to attend.

You don’t have to send your AP scores at all, and if you want to be placed in a higher level course, you have to have a 5 on the relevant AP test. But AP scores aren’t considered for admission. Colleges only want to know that you took the most challenging courses available to you, not that you took the AP test at the end of them.

My D took as many AP courses as she could her senior year, but only took the test for one of them (AP English Lit) because her teacher required it. She starts at Wellesley this fall.

Mariecc1:
Thanks! I’ve started thinking about the essays and will work hard on them. My economics teacher and my Math teacher will write me recommendations. I’m hoping the recs to be good since the two teachers both pleasantly agreed to write me one.

College_query:
Thanks! I was not really planning to earn credits with my APs tho, especially with the poor 4s and 3s :(

Massmomm:
Thanks! Plus, would you mind pm me your d’s stats? I’m kinda stressed out by the whole college application process and really want to get an offer from my favorite school as soon as possible… Lol

Soft, I just sent you a PM

Mass:
Thanks! I got it.

Bump… Anyone else? Please =w=

softcalculator,

I assume that as an international student planning to apply ED, you won’t be applying for financial aid, correct? Just want to check.

I know that admission for international students who also seek financial aid is very very competitive - basically a crapshoot. If you’re not applying for FA, I’m not sure how this affects you.

Your stats seem to be in line. I suspect the quality of your essay and teacher recs will hold a lot of weight. Good luck!

jacinth_ambrose,
Thanks! And no, I will not be applying for FA (or I will have to apply under regular decision).
