Here is my background

Reason to go GS: I am trying to gain another bachelor degree for two reasons. First, I was study in another country because I love Chinese and Taiwan’s Government gave me full scholarship for 4 years. Over there, has completely different teaching and learning system and style. I gain a lot experiences but lost a lot at the same time. There are so many things I miss and I do believe I need them to go graduate school. Sec, I was art administration student but want to go to law school. However, in Taiwan, my school is like professional art school which they do not have any courses like history or general studies.

Where am I right now: 2nd semester in Community College at Boston.

Race: Mixed by Japanese, Taiwanese and Russian. 75% Asian.

Dual Citizenship…but none of them is American citizenship.

Taiwan (2002~2006)
- Not sure about my GPA…they count in the different way. I don’t think it looks good but I can get good recommendations if needed.
- Model Union, Student Council, School Choir conductor, and joined best choir in Taiwan for 2 years. Besides, I was selected to be in Taiwan Youth Choir.
- Volunteer at Red Cross for more than 500 hrs. English teacher at very poor elementary school for 2 years.
- CEO (leader) of 3634 Art Administration Office. President of Flying with Love Charity Concert and raised found up to 20,000 for poor children in Taiwan. President of Nan-Yi International Festival held by Tainan County Government. Interrupter of Yi-Tzy Dance Troup and had a performance trip to Europe.

Boston, MA (Sept, 2006~Now)
First Semester: 3.28 – Dean List
-English Reading A- (90~93)
-English Writing A- (90~93)
-Japanese: Although my mom is Japanese, I do not speak Japanese as my first language. A (93 and up)
-US Government C+ (78~79)
-US History II B- (80~83)

*My English is not like perfect. I do have TOEFL score before I entered into this school which is iBT 79 (CBT 213). I know I need to work more hard and I really do!! Even I got C+ and B-, both teachers said if I want recommendation from them, they will write a good one for me. One of them was graduated form both Columbia College and graduate school.

Sec. Semester
-College Writing
-World History II: I was going to take US History I but have a time confliction.
-Japanese: The problem is, in my school we don’t have intermediate Japanese. Should I take in another school? Will GS think the reason I didn’t take is because I quit learning it?
-College Algebra

I am doing quite well right now. I think I can get straight As in this semester. I will take classes at the summer time too. They might be Bio w/ Lab, one history class and one English class.

Trinity Church Choir

Big Sister ( Volunteer job )

Asia Student Association

Right now, I am applying for volunteer for Olympic 2008 and work in the orphan house at Tibet.

Do those things give me good chance to apply for GS? I haven’t take SAT yet and planning to take on May, 5th. I saw GS_Banding said that don’t take them…may I ask why? Should I take? I will re-take TOEFL again to gain iBT 100, in order to prove my English ability. Who’s recommendation will be better? Teachers from Taiwan? Teachers here? Or should I get one from Taiwan, one from here? Is there any thing I can do to improve more? Oh, what should I focus in my personal statement? I have a very long essay right now. I really, really want to get into GS… I knew there will be representative coming to our school on Mar 7th a long time ago and can not stop being hyper. =.=|| I will send out my application form around June for next year spring. I kind of worry about the differences between apply for spring and fall…

Anyway, thanks sooooooo much for reading all these things!!!
There is nothing I can say but thank you!!!
