I'll be blunt... your GPA is sub-par and your SAT's are low. I'd say no if engineering... and... not really for arts and science. good luck though... get those scores up and you might have a shot.

id say most people here are being a bit under-optimistic about your chances at admission. this isnt to say youre going to get in... id probably put bucknell in the 'high match' category for you... but you certainly have a chance, especially if you apply early decision.

i guess i think of it this way: are your numbers good enough to at least get you considered for admission? definitely. from there its down to soft factors... great recs, a great essay, demonstrated interest, early decision... whatever you can do to set yourself apart from the rest of the borderline applicant pool. so visit, spend a night, write a fantastic essay... and hope for the best!

I was admitted to the college of engineering RD with similar SAT scores (660 CR 660M 650W), so I would not be discouraged. I think my required essay helped distinguish myself a bit, and it won't hurt to also write the optional essay (I didn't).

MY DD was waitlisted at BUcknell, Hamilton and Conn college( all liberal arts) but accepted into Syracuse( newhouse), Villanova, Boston College,Lafayette, SUNY Bing. Rec'd merit money from Loyola, F&M and G'burg.

Her Sat's were 710V, 600M, 700W
95% avg... top 5%
SAT2'S were 680 and 750
AP'S were 4's and 5's
Excell recs
Great EC's---2 varsity sports, clubs,NHS, comm service, student gov't and class officer

DD friends were accepted at schools they thought were reaches and rejected from matches..

That is very weird however; when I went on the tour at Bucknell they emphasized that they didn't want to be a safety for the ivys. Maybe they thought that ur friend was using Bucknell as a safety because of how good her grades were?

Based on the OP's stats which seem lower than my DD's I think Bucknell is high match. But as I said I have learned that college admissions are unpredictable, even bizzare.
