Hey everybody! I already know the average GPA's and SAT's, but some personal opinions are always nice. So here ya go:

1200 SAT (580M, 620R).

25 ACT (22M and S, 27E, and 30R).
*I've only taken these once, I'm taking the SAT again soon.

4.4ish Weighted GPA.

Over 20 College courses, and I'll have my Associate's Degree in Pre-Law this December via dual enrollment at a local college.

3.9 GPA College GPA.

I'm a senior and I'm homeschooled (except for the stuff at the college).

I'm out-of-state (Florida)

I've got tons of EC stuff, but here are the basics:
3 years varsity basketball (team captain this year).
2 years varsity cross country.
Varsity soccer this year (team captain).
*If you're wondering how I can play sports, homeschoolers can play for high schools in Florida... take Tim Tebow for example (QB for the U of Florida).
SGA President-second time this year.
SGA Treasurer.
SGA Vice President.
**This was through our homeschool group here.
I've won 3rd. place at a national mock trial competition.
I've also been elected "Governor" of Florida at a statewide Civics program.
Finally, I have 150 or so hours of community service.

So there's the basics. Also, I want to apply to the political science program there, if it makes a difference. Speaking of that program, how is political science at CU?

So if you know the stats, you know that comparatively your GPA is way high and your SAT/ACTs are middling (SAT is better score - don't need to submit ACT). But you have alot of other things going on that make you an interesting applicant. CU adcoms have regional assignments: contact yours, establish your interest, get your name on their radar screen, and you should do fine.

I agree with DRB's assessment; you are an attractive candidate. As for the political science program, it is my D's minor (economics major and she may double major in political science - I can never keep up with her!). I will ask her this weekend and reply back on this thread.

AT9, I talked to my D this weekend, and she said that the political science department is a solid one. It's not known for being outstanding, but the instruction there is seen as being good.

^ Thanks, ColoradoMom! I'm getting ready to apply there, because it looks like my dad has landed a job in Pueblo. And I took the SAT recently, and I'm waiting for my scores which I'm pretty sure have gone up a bit. So I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.

Ok, it turns out my dad got a job in Pueblo, so the University of Colorado is now my first choice. I just got my SAT results back, and these are (does CU superscore?) my superscored results:

580 Math
630 Reading
610 Writing
11 Essay

So by looking at the stats from the school (the SAT's and GPA's), it looks like I've got a pretty good chance. I certainly wouldn't consider this a safety, but could I consider it a match or low match? Thanks!

Your stats put you easily in the top 1/2 to top 1/4 of enrolled students (keep in mind CU has a big engineering/science applicant cohort, which probably bumps up the median math SAT score). However, given your unusual background, it would be advisable to get in touch with someone in the admissions office. These people are interested in attracting the best students to CU and can act as an advocate on your behalf (not that I think you need one) and make sure the review process goes smoothly.

Thanks guys.
I did actually get in contact with the admissions rep for Florida, and she answered my questions completely. Hopefully that will help if I need it.

Alright... time to start applying, and I'll let you all know if I got in!
