So I just finished my sophomore year. I spent the entire time bumbling about because no one could help me figure out what I needed to do. I took only one course in my major, the rest being gen eds and retakes of gen eds. I was removed from school at the end of the semester because of my mental illness (they consider me a liability and forced me to go to humiliating lengths just to stay in school, even though I was registered as a disabled individual and never presented a danger to myself or anyone else). Aside from the idea of suing the school, I just want to get back into school after I take a break for a year and move to New York City.

Long story short, I have a 1.4 GPA. It was a toxic environment, I was discouraged by the school, they literally told me they didn't want me there and that it would be better if I just dropped out, and to top it off I was severely wrapped up by this mental illness that I have only recently learned how to handle. I don't care if I have to go to community college to raise my grades, because I doubt any NYC university will take me anyway. I just want to know what my chances of ever getting back into school are.

Please tell me everything you know, advise me, help me figure out where to go and what to do. I will provide as much information as I can to help you out. I just want to get back into school, do better, graduate, and show everyone that I can and will do it and be better than they ever thought I could be.
