What’re my chances?

Your grades/scores are really similar to mine, and I’m going to be a freshman at Brown this fall. I’d say your academic portion is on par with many Brown admits. I’m Asian too, so don’t worry too much about that hindering your chances :P

From what I recall I thought that Brown requires 3 SATII’s? If not, I would still recommend you to take another one. It’s not necessary, but it could definitely help.

Good that you will continue to challenge yourself senior year. Also good that you participated in a lot of extracurriculars. However, I note a lack of extracurriculars outside of academia. Have you volunteered at all? Or had a job? Both can significantly help your app I think.

Just hone in on your essay really. That’s my bottom line advice. I should’ve started working on my essay during the summer. Also, revise, revise, revise! I was about ready to submit my first draft, but after I had some peers look over it, I realized I didn’t explain my own passions and what I have done to make a difference in a cause I’m involved with. I would recommend you to work hard on it, focus on something about yourself that will make you STAND OUT among perhaps 20,000+ applicants like this year, and you’ll be good to go

Show that you are not an academic drone! haha. PM me if you need help with anything and I’d be glad to try. And remember that even with a good essay + stats, admission to such selective schools is still VERY unpredictable.

Oh and cute username, hehe.

being an asian from kansas will not help you

brown only requires 2 satiis but since you have an act score they are not required. I’d just submit your act and whatever subject tests you have as supplemental scores.

I would say 15% chance.
