Okay, I think I pretty much have my list down, so here's the breakdown.
Dickinson (EA), Bucknell, Colby, Bowdoin, Swarthmore, Penn, Amherst.
SAT 1: 660V 630M
SAT 2: 670 Writing 700 US History 720 Spanish
AP: 4 on AP US History, taking AP Lit, Spanish Lang, Chem, and Bio this year.
GPA: 3.758
Rank: 9/475
Solid Extracurriculars (no sports), Awards for Writing, NHS, Foreign Language Honor Society for Spanish 1-5, Editor for School Newspaper and Literary Magazine.
I'm taking the SAT one more time to try to get my math up 50 points and my verbal up 40. What do you think my chances are at my schools, and I'm not sure if I want to apply to two Maine schools, so I was wondering what I could consider in the northeast (south of Maine) instead of Colby or Bowdoin?

I worked 35 hour weeks at Penn over the summer for their tech department.

Bowdoin has a slightly better reputation than Colby. Might want to look at Holy Cross-1 hour from Boston or Trinity in Hartford.

please help, i have like a week and i need to know if my list is okay for me. bless your kind soul for helping me out.

some other colleges to look at-

Connecticut college- match/safety liberal arts in a nice southeastern connecticut town.

Williams College- kindof like amherst...really hard to get into, prob a reach.

Hampshire college - right next to Amherst, part of the five college consortium with Amherst

I'm not sure how you want to break down your choices. My opinion is that out of 7 schools, you have 3 major reaches in Penn, Amherst and Swarthmore, and another reach but less so in Bowdoin. Colby decent chance but it's also very selective; I think you'd be in at Bucknell, and in Dickinson for sure.

Maybe think of one or two more match schools that are still selective like Lehigh, Trinity, Hamilton.

do you think I should knock off some of the reaches? I agree that Bucknell and Dickinson are kind of safeties, but it's kind of unsettling if the rest of my list is all reach schools, what do you recommend that i do?

lol bump again... i'm desperate.
