Just wondering what my chances of getting into a college like Santa Monica, Northridge, Santa Barbra, San diego, Long Beach

I'm still halfway through sophomore year so i don't have enough info yet but here is what im planning to do. Its probably too early to judge but I'm curious.

-7ish AP Classes, Lots of honors classes. -3.7 GPA.
-I play guitar[3years and a half] and keyboard[2years].
-80 volunteer hours. I help at a retirement center. I assist old people
-Will being hispanic help me get in? I heard that being a minority helps. I was born in america and both parents in Mexico
-Does going to the gym count as a EC activity because I do.
-2 clubs for sure. A church club and another called musical minds
-baseball[2 years]
-My parents didn't go to college but my sister does
-I go to a public school.
-I think I am lower middle class
-I am a twin. Does that change anything? lol

I used to think I could get into a UC but after I saw ther other posts. I'm not that much competition. Try to low ball me. What school can i get in for sure. Btw my school is ****, i will probably end up being top 4-10ish percent because only about 8 out of 150ish kids give a crap about education =] I'm not looking for anything crazy like yale or princeton

no replies, people probably taking this as a joke. screw this, ima be a stripper

It is too early to chance…your grades look good. Aim for UC…keep that GPA up and take the most rigor classes in your school. CSU - I believe most everyone with a 3.0 gets in.

dude above me, i doubt that. almost every post i’m seeing has like 4.5 gpa with 10 ECs. Ones that actually matter like building a freaking radio for the school. Who does that?

UCs will look at your application in the context of your school. What would be your class rank? If you are in the top 9% in your school, you are guaranteed a UC.
And I dont know much but there is the questbridge program
[QuestBridge Home](http://www.questbridge.org/) for low income student that helps with summer and college prep.

You can be pessimistic or take what is realistic. You have a 3.7 now and if you get your uc gpa to close to 4.0 by end of junior year and you rank high in your school, then you will get into UC. Of course, you got to work as hard as you can through this year and next. But I am now not sure if you are just ■■■■■■■■ here or you want sincere advice.

thanks for the info. btw does college only care about sports you did in high school?

Sports outside count as well…like in clubs. Anything that you do whether outside or inside of school, can count as a legit extracurricular.

I didn’t mean that. I used to play basketball outside of school during middle school and elementary school. I stopped during ninth grade. Can i still put i played basketball for roughly 3 years.
