My Chances at a UC and admission anouncements/emails

Hey im from IL and applied to several UCs (yes i know about the budget and expense and such). What are your opinions on my chances (all except for Merced, I just got into Riverside)
CA GPA 4.0
ACT 29
SAT II’s History 800 Math II 600
by the end of high school (including all years) 3 AP’s (6 semesters) and 5 honors classes(10)
5 on AP US history Test
many extra carriculars Band, Jazz Band, Music Improv, Pep Band, Bands outside of school, taught guitar lessons, worked at a grocery store, Heavy Metal Club, ACLU, Democrat Club, Military History Club, Boy Scouts, radio show

Also i get a good deal of emails from Irvine, SC, SB does that have any baring on my admission status? Also do the UC’s send out admission decisions or indicators prior to mid march (except Riverside)

all except berkeley and la in my opinion. you have a shot at those, but they are very competitive and your test scores are a bit low. i would say reach for san diego.

are you saying UCSD is a reach?

Second opinion on UCSD:

Never listen to people who tell you your chances there without giving you this link
[UC San Diego Comprehensive Review Admission Process: Freshman Selection, Fall 2010](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/freshmen/process.html)

which gives you the point totals for everything. (You’ll have to scroll down a bit to get them, but they are there)

UCSD admits students based on these numbers, so take a look at how you stack up and then look at the cutoff for admission last year. It will no doubt be more competitive this year with the waitlist thing and the lower admission due to the budget, but that site can give you a rough approximation, which is better than anyone just saying ‘reach.’

Best of luck,
cp
