My chances at Bowdoin

I’m an international student (Egypt) and I have:
*1440/1600 SAT score (760 in math, 350 reading, and 330 writing and language)
*Perfect unweighted GPA (with honors in science, math, and English)
*4 extracurriculars that include founding clubs at school, heading the school IT team, and volunteering in a big science project.

  • I have capstone research projects experience (got recommendation regarding this)
I also think that there are no Egyptians at Bowdoin, so this might be a plus. Also, i made good use of the fact that I come from the middle east in Bowdoin supplementary essay.

I’m considering applying under ED, what are my chances? should i better have another college under ED that is easier to get in?

Note: I’m asking for so much financial aid

Are you planning to apply for next year? This year’s deadline has passed.

Yes, I’m confused. In another thread, you said one school deferred you from ED to RD.

I already applied RD. I’m just considering changing my admission plan from RD to ED since i was deferred at w&l and released from the ED agreement.

Moreover, if i cannot change admission plan and if i don’t get accepted, I’ll probably do a gap year and apply again next year under ED I

You could contact admissions and see if it’s possible to change it to ED2. However, if you are not admitted, I don’t know how likely it is you will be admitted next year.

They told me it’s too late to change to ED2. So, what are my chances in RD?

I don’t think anyone can give you any accurate information for chances.

It depends on the other applicants. It depends on how your application comes across. It depends on whether or not they think you are a good fit.

I didn’t think my S would be admitted (he applied ED) but he was. I thought his best friend who also applied ED would be admitted, but he wasn’t.

It’s stressful, but at this point all you can do is wait for decisions to come out. Best wishes for a happy outcome.
