My Chances at Brown University

Acedemics:

Weighted GPA: 4.23
Class Rank: 52/430 (A bunch of people who are in no IB classes are higher than me. Really not fair, but there's nothing I can do about it.)
SAT: Reading: 740 Math: 720 Writing: 770
Schedule for Senior year: HL IB English, HL IB World Topics, HL IB Biology, IB Math Studies II, IB Physics, Human Biology, IB Spanish, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band

you seem like you have a good chance, and wow to all honor and awards good luck :)

Thanks! I’m pretty nervous about this whole college thing. haha.

dont worry, cuz we cant do anything about in now, just chillin whatever happens, happens for good

but good luck it seems you reaaalllyyy want to go brown, hopefully your essay was unique and awesome. that should help you a lot :)

I’m still a junior. I just have all my gpa and stuff calculated out for the end of this year, and my SAT is based on practice tests. I’m like, obsessive about getting into these good colleges. I’ll be applying probably Early Decision at the beginning of next year. I’m just wondering where people think i can improve etc to maybe help me become even more competitive.

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

Do either of you know if awards (like all my music awards) will help me get into the school even if i choose not to pursue that field. I dont really want to go into music at all. Maybe play in the school band but thats it…

Brown - reach, but you have a good shot compared to others.

I’ve read that one of the most important admission factors of getting into Brown is applicants interest. If i made it very apparent that i truly wanted to go there and i loved it, would that help me a lot? And another very important admission factor is talent/awards. Would this also help me?
Thanks for the advice

I also went to China with my school band for the summer Olympics, and played and celebrated with the youth delegates from all around the world.
