My Chances at Cornell, Rice, and JHU...where should i ED?

GPA = Upper A- range
Class Rank = School doesn't rank, but i would be considered in the top 10%

Classes - came from another country 2 years before high school was not eligible for honors english (and thus history) in my freshman year...and my secondary language was hurt too (spanish) because that program starts in 6th grade i came in 7th grade.

Freshman = 2 honors (math and physical science) No Aps offered
Sophmore = 5 honors (math, biology, english, history, spanish) No Aps offered
Junior = 2 Aps (computer science, history) 3 honors (math, science, spanish)
Senior = 4 Aps (calc AB, biology, literature, european history) 1 honors (physics)

Extracurriculars

Black Belt Tae Kwon Do (4 yrs) - i teach classes once a month ive won many tournaments (1 time NJ state champion, 2 times big east and other tourneys)
Member of an out of school organization called PTPI - local student chapter was created by members of our high-school...i am one of the top members of this organization
National honor society member- dont know if this counts for anything...but im in it
National Merit Scholarship commended student

Have tons of volunteer hours and lots of other extracurricular activities at school - (held 3 officer positions in my junior year and am going to hold 5+ in my senior year)

SAT 1 - 760 Math 680 Verbal 650 Writing (10 Essay Score) 2090
SAT II Math Ic = 790 (1 question wrong :S)
SAT II Math IIc = 780
SAT II Biology = 770
SAT II History = 750

AP US history = 4 (:X)

I am really interested in the sciences, but am still figuring out what to do in life...so as i come up with more names of places i plan to apply to i'll post them here...

what are my chances?

BTW im retaking SAT i's in october and plan to raise my verbal/writing to atleast 700+

You should ED at the one you like most. Don't try to play the numbers game... ED is binding, and you could end up making a huge mistake.

yea i understand that...im not even sure if i should ED or not
because im interested in a variety of colleges and dont just want to make a decision based on where i have the highest chance of getting in
but i just wanted to know if any of these colleges on my list is out of my reach? and maybe i should aim lower

ok let me refine my request

i am currently trying to decide between engineering and the sciences (medicine and such)

so the schools im considering going to are the following:
1. cornell school of engineering
2. john hopkins university
3. upenn (do i even have a chance?)
4. rice
5. northwestern
6. washington at st. louis
7. rutgers (last resort)

what are my chances?

Change your attitude about Rutgers, or find a safety you wouldn't mind going to.

Because every other school on that list is very competitive, and I'd advocate adding at least one other safety.

i know that rutgers is a great school
but where im from (central NJ) everyone goes to rutgers
and thats partly the reason why it doesnt appeal to me that much

for all practical purposes its a fine school for me
but i will follow ur advice...thanks
