<p>Hey guys, i just wanted to get some ideas on what people think about my chances at Cornell</p>

<p>I'm doing ED
Applying to CALS, under Biological Sciences
Doing 2nd choice major - Nutritional Sciences
I live in CALIFORNIA, asian-american, low-income single parent family</p>

<p>STATS:</p>

<p>SAT1 - (if i take best of both sittings) = 2200
m 800
w 720
v 680</p>

<p>SAT II
math2c - 800
us history - 720
bio M - 780-800 (taking soon and rushing)</p>

<p>GPA
9-12 (booo it sucks) 3.55 W or something
10-12 (boooo sucks) 3.89 W or something</p>

<p>EC
-honors orchestra i've been in for all 4 years
-pit orchestra for school musical - 4 yrs
-orchestra cabinet - treasurer, secretary - 3yrs
-science bowl 10,11
-science olympiad 10, 11
-ocean science bowl 10, 11
-school red cross club - all 4 yrs
-national junior classical league - all 4 yrs</p>

<p>AWARDS
-generally spread out and received awards from all of my ECs
-won awards for research projects i did by county/regional fairs</p>

<p>COMM SERVICE
-school red cross club
-Orange County red cross chapter
-library
-church soup kitchen</p>

<p>-i also worked, and took courses (like 7) at junior college over summers</p>

<p>RECCOMENDATION
-they're pretty good..not sure about GC cause i don't really know him too well
-getting another one sent by employer (going to be very well written)</p>

<p>ESSAY
-kickass</p>

<p>dunno if it matters or not.. but im receiving an "informal" recommendation from a private instructor who happens to be close with alot of the ad officers at cornell</p>

<p>haha im doing ed at agricultural too w/ biological sciences first choice and nutritional second... lol we have similar stats too except you got 30 points on me on the SAT and i have a slightly better GPA... so ballances out i guess... lol, weird... but looks like your ec's follow a certain niche and you seem devoted to your future... good luck</p>

<p>P.S. I would consider not rushing your Nov 5 SAT2, i heard cornell doesnt want it rushed because rushing sends hard copies of your scores while they prefer the electronic scores they get if you don't rush 'em... just a thought</p>

<p>What is your unweighted GPA? That would be more useful since we don't know how your school weights grades.</p>

<p>Since you're going ED, I think the high SATs and good ECs could get you in. The GPA is low, though. I'd say you have around 50% chance. Good luck!!</p>

<p>everyone says their essays are kickass, so people should only mention their essays in "chances threads" if they completely suck</p>
