My chances at Dartmouth?

I've been eyeing Dartmouth for years now, and chance are I'll apply ED next fall (im a junior now). I'd really appreciate some opinions here. A lot of this is hypothetical, but it's how i see the things to come.

Awards: I can't think of any!

So I'm sure u can see my highs and lows. What do you think my chances are for ED? What can I do in the next year to make my chances better?

Thanks!

I would say a good chance. Be thinking about essay topics and short answer topics. A well done essay about the ECs you do have may overcome any perception of "not so great" - but, by the way, I think your ECs are perfectly fine. How about an experience as Manager of the Girls' Team? You obviously enjoy swimming, you are pursuing it at several levels. Do you live outside the NE?

Yeah, swimming is a big part of my EC's, and the essay is something I'll definitely put a lot of time and effort into. I live in NY, maybe 5 hours from Hanover.

Thanks for the reply

The reason I asked was related to geographic diversity. Nothing is assured, but I think you have a reasonable chance. Search out some Dartmouthoid safeties. Take a look at Davidson College in NC (not a safety, but quite Dartmouthoid) and to really stretch the geographic boundaries, Trinity University in TX - I know a swimmer/diver there who is very happy. Good luck to you

Are you looking to become recruited for swimming?

I'm not sure if i should since I'm probably going to be pre-med. I'm not an exceptional swimmer either since I have a lot of shoulder problems, so I don't know if it'd be worth it.

I dunno...I visted Davidson and found it to be pretty different from Dartmouth. Much more conservative and much less diverse.
