My Chances at Duke ED?

If you have the time to, please chance me for getting accepted into Duke ED? (I applied to the Trinity Schools of Arts and Sciences to become a potential Economics major)

I'm an Asian American from Washington state, and I applied for the optional alumni interview for Duke's ED (which I have yet to receive). I have some legacy as well; my sister is currently a sophomore at Duke.

Essays:
I thought they were pretty good - my Why Duke essay especially had some depth into the school, since I visited my sister and the school last Spring

Recommendations:
Very good - they really describe who I am as a person from my Science Olympiad Coach (who I've known for 4 years now) and my sophomore English teacher (who is also the advisor for the Service for Peace Club, a club started by one of my close friends which I'm still participating in)

If you need more info of any sort, please let me know!

Any feedback is appreciated!! ^__^ I really really REALLY hope I get into Duke. It's my #1 choice (well, obviously, since I applied ED :P) But feel free to make some critical comments, despite my feelings.

I have pretty similar stats (legacy, act/sat scores, my AP’s are a bit higher though but that shouldnt matter). Aside from your small lack of sports here (you played jv, but you didn’t follow through onto varsity), I’d say that you’re a competitive candidate (at least I’d like to think so because I applied E.D. as well and we have a similar app).

Thanks ballinallday. Another month until we find out. Good luck to you too then!!

CON:Low SAT I & II scores. Low AP scores. ORM disadvantage.
PRO: Legacy, GPA, ECs, applying ED

Her SAT I scores are balanced by her ACT scores, they take the higher of the two based upon the official ACT-SAT concordance scale
[ACT-SAT Concordance](The ACT Test for Students | ACT)

@ futurexreject: thanks for the feedback. and yeah, i know i probably shouldn’t have submitted my sat scores. but i realized that i had actually used my free score reports, and i can’t exactly “take them back”.

but hopefully the ACT score will impress the admissions office enough. :)

we have about similar credentials and i have confidence in my application (eevn though we never can really know if we can get in or not until december 15th lol)
you seem like a bright individual and you should just hope for the best! theres not much you can do now.

i know someone who got in last year (to trinity) with similar credentials (SAT, AP courses), so i think you have a fair shot.

good luck :)

thank you both!! that makes me feel a lot better, haha. i’ve still been worrying a ton though.
