My Chances at Fordham?

<p>Im a senior from an international school in Taiwan.
I have a....
GPA: 3.15 weighted
SAT: CR:620 /M:590 /W:630
(im taking the SAT for the last time in october. aiming for at least a 1930 combined) </p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-Key Club
-Debate
-Model United Nations
-Roots and Shoots</p>

<p>I went to Columbia U. during the summer of my sophomore year and fell in love with NYC since~ im obsessed with NYC to the point that i check the NYC reddit pretty much everyday :P since i definitely dont have a chance at either columbia or NYU, i was thinking of giving it a shot at fordham.</p>

<p>so....what are my chances if i EA fordham?</p>

<p>Fordham is a reach for you. The average weighted GPA is a 3.7 and the average SAT score is around 1940.</p>

<p>Doesn’t hurt to try, but I’m thinking it’s a reach.
You should check out Pace University, it’s in Manhattan and I’m sure you have a good chance of getting in.</p>

<p>While it’s not actually IN NYC, Hofstra University (in Hempstead, 25 miles east of NYC, but they allow freshman to have cars on campus, and transportation is available) would probably take you… You fall in line with the admitted applicant stats there. You’re current CR puts you in the 75th percentile, and your current M puts you somewhere around the 50th percentile, and they accept GPAs all across the board. It’s a nice size (just under 7500 students), a nice campus, a good faculty to student ratio, it’s pretty diverse, has good academics (as reviewed by students), and for some reason, it seems to have more prestige than it really should haha. I think Hofstra should definitely be on your radar. You might wanna’ look into some CUNYs too. </p>

<p>As for Fordham, well, I’d say your chances are pretty low… You fall far behind the stats of the average Fordham admitted applicant… It’s a definite reach for you. </p>

<p>Fordham is very selective at 42% and will probably be in the high thirties next year as far as acceptance rates go since its higher us news rankings may prompt more applications. If you are such a big fan of NYC try Pace University as mentioned above, or St. Johns University.</p>
