my chances at Harvard EA???

To say your scores don't meet Harvard's standards is a gross understatement. In a thread you started, you stated that you achieved a 1570 on the SAT. That is putrid, and to even have the audacity to insult people whose credentials are light years ahead of yours is extremely ignorant.

This thread is the funniest thing I have ever read. Unfortunately, it seems as though some civility is showing itself.

Anyways...I would say that at this point, your acceptance depends almost entirely on your essays. You are an average applicant for Harvard - especially from a state like New York. I would try to put a lot of thought into your essays, write them about something original and thoughtful, and hope for the best.

This thread is really funny. I think it's amazing that people in the North East are so ignorant about things. They just memorize facts, they don't have any thinking skills what-so-ever. The Wyoming girl is right. She has many large hooks that set herself aside from the applicant pool. This asian from New York who has had plenty of opportunities and parents with money is just, at most, an average applicant. It amazes me that people think in the upper-mid-western states people all still farm and ride horses. I live in South Dakota and I've never been to a farm nor have I ridden a horse. We have Mcdonalds and Walmart... LOL! I was telling some guy from Boston this and he just couldn't believe it.... Hysterical.

Tell me, all wealthy NorthEastern applicants, how many students have had to go through these conditions and still achieve what she has:

"Guzelim, I am from Wyoming. my family is severely disadvantaged and I have had to spend much of my time raising my siblings while both my parents worked multiple minimum wage jobs just to put barely enough food on the table. Despite that, I am still doing well in school, my activities are considered prestigious in my area, and I will soon be taking board tests again. While my standardized scores are admitedly towards the lower range of Harvard's admits, it isn't so outlandish to think I might have a chance given my decidedly disadvantaged background, academic potential, and range of experience. But guzelim, you're right. the OP does have higher scores than I."

hahaha, i've seen those threads, why do i somehow not believe a word kelly says.

Yeah, because we all know all people from the Northeast are rich, pompous a-holes....

Nobody is discounting her situation (which is horrible) and it seems like she has perservered and overcome obstacles. There's nothing wrong with pursuing a dream, but she was trashing people's credentials when hers are not even a block away from the ballpark. It's not all about scores, but she posted many conceited and holier-than-thou remarks. When you have an SAT below 1200 you aren't getting into Harvard; it's as simple as that.

... I thought spydertennis had already made enough of a travesty of people believing a word that "kelly_'010" says... guess not ...

Well said dooit...kind of sums it up doesn't it? Well if anyone doesn't believe you or merlin or greenmoon or Harvard2011, then they can just go and through away $70. Suits me.
