<p>1 out of 16, give or take, unless you are recruited for swimming, or your work in the Islamic community somehow translates into a hook. (Those are not, by the way, particularly poor odds these days.)</p>
<p>First, I don't see why I shouldn't feel good about it.</p>
<p>Second, I don't consider it an ethnicity, but since my essay is probably going to include my work at Kintok and Islam in general, I thought i'd preface this post with that identity. I don't see why that irritates you so much. It's something that I choose to promote in my apps cause I think it's one of my defining characteristics. My ethnicity, if you look further, is Sri Lankan. </p>
<p>Your numbers arent great but they are not so "low" to keep you out of Yale. Your EC's are very good and if you write a killer essay and have good recs, you can make it.</p>
