Amazing, up-and-above SAT scores--but you have a weak GPA (is it unweighted? or weighted?). If it is unweighted, then it's not too bad, but unweighted means it's definitely below average.

As for your EC list, there seems to be a few good ones, ones that you could potientially write your essays on--but it doesn't really seem to stand out.

So, I'd say you have a chance--and as someone once told me, "Applying to Harvard is like buying a lottery ticket." And it never hurts to try, eh?

In any case, do you live in Korea? Or do you live somewhere else? (btw, I'm also Korean, which is why I'm interested.)

Hmm, well.... one more question: are you a senior? Or a junior? I do hope you're not a junior, as you will most likely be my competition, then..... ^^

Your GPA and SAT scores are about average for a Harvard applicant. Your SAT2 scores a bit above average. Consequently, you have a little better than average chance of getting into Harvard - about 15%.

I'd say you have 5 - 10% of getting in. Honestly your EC isn't that fabulous, your GPA is low, and your SATs...well, they may be high, but I've seen plenty of people with 2400s and 4.0 unweighted get rejected all the time from that school...and of course, I'm sure some of them had above average EC as well.

Internationals have far less chance than Americans. Your competeing against an amazingly strong international group, lots of 2400s, national level achievements, etc. I think you would do well below the HYP level, but I don't think you'll get into Harvard.

What, generally, would schools add to a weighted GPA? Some schools add 1 point. Some add 0.5. My old school even added 2 points for an AP course. How will colleges know?

Not to discourage you deathgaterj, but Harvard's applicant pool is almost filled with "perfect students", meaning 2400SATs nearly perfect SATIIs, good ECs, and good recomm from teachers+GC. - Sadly, many many get rejected.

If there is ANY EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCE that you may want to write about, go ahead.

remember, but not always Harvard adcoms seek perfect students. i heard some students have got there with poor SAT scores and about 2-3 APs, relatively weak GPA and barely some ECs and still get in. Can we call this LUCK? don't ask me.
