Essay Topic:
I had a medical disease and parent and close relative had cancer.

Bump, Anyone?

With all due respect, I don’t think a 3.8 or 3.9 unweighted needs any clarification. It certainly couldn’t hurt, but you’d make much better use of the essay revealing more about yourself -the medical disease is definitely worth talking about. But relate it to yourself, not to your grades.

You’re in a lot of leadership positions. Just make sure you emphasize the ones that are important to you, so many lose credibility if so many are stacked across your application. But they’re still impressive.

If you can do that, then you’ll have a much larger shot.

Thanks thats good advice, I’ll definatly put it into use.

If I were to change my applications thus, does anyone know what chances I would have at said schools?

Knock those essays out of the part and I say your in to 5/7 ivies. Good luck, and if you get into Princeton, look me up :)

That’s a lot of leadership o_O. I assume you have been SMOB? That’s a pretty big deal where I come from. Make sure you emphasize your passions, because it would be kind of unbelievabe if you presented yourself as intensely devoted to like 7 activities…

Well, you are international, so those scores are perhaps a nudge low for HYPS. Great ECs though. It sounds like you have a lot to talk about in your essays. If you write about your medical condition, don’t pass it off as an excuse for your bad grades in fresh/soph year, because they really aren’t bad enough to warrant explanation. For HYPS, probably in at 2/4, for other Ivies, probably 4/5.

Math I? Oh no no, take Math II, your chances will be so much better.

Erroln: Hey man, thanks for the advice. If I get into Princeton, I’ll send you a message, lol.

amb3r: Yea, I make it clear to myself early on that I wanted to make a difference. It’s mainly what has pushed me to lead. My main passion would have to be the Environmental Organization, the Youth Involvement Organization and the City Youth Cabinet, I put them above all else. Although it is at top, I am highly devoted to the others, just not to the same degree.

In regards to my essay topic, rather then write about why it had dropped my marks, I think, now I would rather write about how and why its pushing me to help people in need, make a difference in the world, and a difference in peoples lives, with the short time we have in ours. This is probably the main reason for my numerous Extra-Curricular activities.

Castel: Ahah, thanks for the advice, I’ll try.

Just to add on to my Stats, I do not know if this will change anything but add under

Environmental Organization - 3 years:

Conceptualized, Co-Headed and Planned two concerts in regards to environmental awareness, handling over 10,000 people (including celebrities) total.

Bump, anyone else?

Whoops, I forgot that you’re international. SMOB would be an American thing, I guess, so ignore that :P

Heh, =P.

Re-Bump.
