Thank you!!! :)

GB- everyone in my husband’s family went to Middlebury and I know for a fact that they consider being a native Vermonter a very important aspect of applications. I would say it is right up there with being a legacy or having “development” potential. So you look like a strong candidate to me!

I am going to agree with Calmama - especially when it comes to ED applications.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Thanks!! I definitely will, Modadunn. I forgot to mention, also: I’m a legacy! My mom went to Midd. Does that boost my chances a lot or a little?

It bumps it some. How did you do on AP tests? Some 5’s would help shore up the weakly SAT scores (25% level at Mid is 1950).

But you are clearly in the game.

It’s me again. Per an seminar for alumni and their children who are applying,I was told the three things they reportedly look at (assuming 80% of candidates in the general pool all qualify) when narrowing the field is VT residency, legacy and “development” potential. You’ve got 2/3 so I still think you are looking good.

Thank you thank you! Calmama, that’s awesome info, I appreciate it. And to UT, I am actually a junior this year, and everything I gave you for info has all either happened already or has at least a 90 percent chance of happening in the future. I lowered the gpa I gave you because I’m not sure what my gpa will be when I apply, though I’m hoping it will be the same as it is now. I’ll try to keep my straight A average for as long as I can for this year! As far as SAT scores, I’ve given you a score I think I can get based on the results of my PSATs, and I plan on setting my goals high as far as being an AP scholar.

Question: Midd will be able to see how good of a school I attend now, right? Because my HS is not good at all really…we have hardly any clubs and there are few opportunities that may be available to kids at other schools

I would think the admissions officer for your area is very well aware of the high schools in Vermont. So, how well did you do on the AP tests? If you got 4’s and 5’s then you are getting the most out of your education and I think that they would factor that in. It is all about the opportunities you created for yourself even if there weren’t alot offered at your school. Just my opinion.
