karan.thanks.i didnt hear u getting mit admissions officer's job.
and milki, read the whole post to know whats going on.
thnx guys,again.

Its got nothing to do with being an MIT admissions officer. Its common knowledge MIT wants smart people, your not a smart person (sorry).

^ Sorry I have to correct this; you're*

that being said, do you really think; even if you can get in that you can compete at MIT's level at a younger age?

From your posts, you say you're typing fast, but quite honestly, it's very hard to read what you say. When people say you have poor English, it doesn't have to mean that your English language is poor. For example, you got a high score (I'm not sure what TOFEL is rated under) yet we, the people that you are trying to communicate with, find it very hard to understand.

If you're like this at all in real life, at the level that MIT is at, it'll be very very hard.

That being said, MIT's very big on EC's. What have you done other than Quiz's? I've got friend's who have designed their own DDR pads, and while not MIT caliber, it shows creativity and eagerness to do something. What makes you stand out compared to other applicants? While I guess you can argue that your age makes you an interesting applicant, I know if I was an adcom, I'd take a creative, smart 21 year old (older than the average entering college student) than a seemingly over excited 10th grader.

I did. Since you're bragging about your TOEFL score, I just said it probably wouldn't matter much.

P.S. I agree with others, your English sucks.

I just read this whole thread, and I was on your side at first, but after reading all of you posts, you come off as already expecting that you are worthy to attend MIT, and battling through constructive criticism with guarded surprise...you need to be more modest and accepting of the thing people are telling you, they are trying to help you, not pi$$ you off.

btw, your awkward speech can't be justified by the excuse of "typing fast"

Guys, before bashing on him for being a 10th grader lets remember that (at least to my knowledge) 10th grade is senior year in india...

ranojdh, I'm not sure you'll get in (i know MANY amazing people who did not get in), but best of luck to you anyway.

I think the dude won't. Someone is absolutely right to say that ran... is overexcited :))

so, Making typos(a lot of them) despite getting 110 in TOEFL and you guys say my English sucks, strange.
Yes,I am overexcited. No doubt about that.
Yes,I am expecting that I am worthy to attend MIT or I won't have applied.Except for experience.
I am sorry if I didn't sound modest(I know I didn't) but I cannot see as to why you people, a small percentage of you guys, were offering destructive criticism instead of constructive one. Most of you are supportive and know that if not now,I might get in MIT two years from now.And I am very thankful to you for that.
I am not bragging about my TOEFL score, I am just trying to you present my English in front of you.My English on this thread gave a different story about my proficiency in English.
And karan, I wish to meet you someday. Until then, please reserve your opinion about my smartness.
As for MIT's level, yes I am very confident of taking that up at a younger age. I have MITians and IITians and did not hear anyone of them say, "Sorry. You are not fit for the institute."
As for your preference for a 21 year old above me, I know that's the case. But I told you, I applied mainly for getting more experience of admission process so that its flawless in 12th.
Now how many applicants 2 years from now would boast of this experience and even of the knowledge I gained here.
Lastly, guys, I did not mean any offense to anyone. Its not that I do not like criticism, its that I am loving every moment on the thread.Probably, I need to learn the art of taking criticisms more in-the-face sort.
Thanks for all your advices. More would be welcome.
Bye............

If you don't understand that your TOFEL score doesn't really matter if we can't comprehend what you're saying.

Trust me, there are MANY kids my grade that would get a very low TOFEL score, but many times I can tell still understand them.

I can't even read through that last wall of text.

this is my typing quick.n otice how what i say is still readable.

em, 10th might be the "senior year" but "Inter" (11th and 12th) is more or less required for college.

ranjodh, do tell us if you get in.

sorry but i hv met some MITians and americans(other than indian-americans) and did not have a problem communicating with them. but i wont justify myself further. i have already got into trouble doing that. i shall definitely tell you if i get in.

Yes, it is. Thanks, but i wont give any further excuse.

Ranojh..i have been keeping track of your record...see the thing with MIT is its more of a gamble then anything else..you have to be super smart to get in there...even if your in tenth grade your sat2 grades wont knock them out of their seats...710..700..not that impressive...i didnt get appluto MIT with a 4.0, 760 chem..800 Math2..and a 2200 on my SAT..im on pakistans debating team..i have won various international debate competitions..im in pakistans U-19 cricket team..Yes, they want diversity, i know a guy from a village in turkey who harvard took for full scholarship..but he was a genius thats what colleges look for..winning a bournivita competition doesnt cut it..i say you have two years to give it your best..dont rush into things..as far as toefl goes it does seem important..for you it does...but i had a 116 on my TOEFL...that didnt really help me..and im a "desi"...but dude good luck..dont let anyone let you down..MIT is a long shot but man india itself has IIT Kanpur which is 10 times better then MIT..and there are schools like columbia FU...stanford..they would take you if you work a bit on your record..aite..good luck man..peace!

shahwaiz thnx a lot 4 ur advice and encouragement.

Ranojdh, Did you get in ?

lol yea i wanna know to
