My Chances at Rutgers New Brunswick

<p>Hey guys really quick.</p>

<p>Right now: Senior and trying to apply to Rutgers for Civil Engineering. I am choosing Civil b/c the Architecture field from what I hear, it is really competitive, so I am trying to get the upper hand and go into Civil so I can understand concepts on why certain things won't work in architecture. Many people say I have the artistic talent to really shine in any art field, but I feel that's too exaggerated. </p>

<p>My unweighted GPA: 91
My weighted GPA: 94 (more towards 95)
My curve: (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior...) 91, 91 (It was like a .1 above the freshman grade), 97</p>

<p>Took APUSH (4 on the exam) and currently taking AP Calc. (Our school only has 4 AP classes; AP Bio, AP English, AP Calc, and APUSH) My AP Calc grade though is at a peaking 80 which I don't know if its good or bad, b/c from what I hear there are only 2 out of 20ish kids who have an A. (96 and 91 I think)
As for Honors, I've only taken Honors Earth Science, Bio, and Modern Global Issues. (10th grade Honors Social Studies) I am up to Art 3 and I have taken Chem 1 and currently taking Physics I and taking Physics II Honors next semester. (Block Scheduling)</p>

<p>Class Ranking: (30 (36 unweighted) /183)</p>

<p>SATs: (This is where it goes ouch...)
1st: June-4-2011 1440 (CR:500 Math:510 Writing:430 w/ an 8 on the essay)
2nd: Oct-1-2011 1430 (CR:480 Math:510 Writing:440 w/ an 8 on the essay)
3rd: Not yet taken; Taking them in November.</p>

<p>Extracurricular:</p>

<p>Not much... I have been a part in the Technology Student Association and was secretary my Sophomore year, then Vice President my Junior year, and then now I am the President. The highlight competition for me was the architectural competition which our team (team captain) won 12th place in the state, but it was out of like 18 or 22 places... I had hand drawn all the plans b/c none of us known how to use AutoCad at the time...</p>

<p>I am also a self taught guitar player and have played since 10th grade. I can also play bass too, but that's (almost) basically playing the same thing as guitar.</p>

<p>So do I stand a chance? I'm feeling really nervous about this... Also do I stand a chance for TCNJ too? If I don't can you guys recommend good NJ or close to NJ schools?</p>

<p>I submitted my app a few days ago. Id say get your SATs up and then the rest is in gods hands</p>

<p>I checked that and already submitted my essay… I had 3 English teachers screen my essay before I submitted it, haha.</p>
