My chances at Stony Brook?

Just wondering what would my chances be? I really want to go to Stony Brook University my best friend and some of my other friends are already accepted and i really want to go there too.. Just wondering what would my chances be?

*GPA= 3.59

*SAT= Math 520 Verbal 500 Writing 460

*NY resident

*East Indian descent

*All pretty much Regent classes, except for this year i've taken AP Bio, i got a 79 the first quarter and probably be a like a 78 or something for my mid year. Taking PreCalc and EMT Training (which is college level)

*I have had the same job for 4 years now, seven hours a week.. I've also put in my summer job which i worked for about 48 hours a week. I also had a leadership role in creating after school programs, i have 160+ hours of community service and community service with the local hospital which is about 40 hours.

*I sent in two Recommendations, one from the directer of the after school activities and one from my Science teacher.

*I applied for Early Action but they had deffered me to regular admissions asking for mid year grades. I had completed the supplemental also with a pretty good essay.

If anyone can help me out it would very appreciated.. Also Thank you in Advance!!!!!

I'm pretty sure you will get in Stony Brook. You are a NY resident so it really shouldn't be that hard for you. You have a very good GPA. Your SAT maybe a bit low but I seen people with a much lower GPA get in Stony Brook.

Thanks alot man, i feel so much better.

You'll probably get in, it's just your SAT scores that are a bit iffy.

Aw, another New Yorker, hey!

Anyway, I think you'll be okay. While SBU has a really awesome graduate science program, its undergrad program isn't terribly selective- don't worry too much.

Just out of curiosity, do you live on Long Island, and if you do, what district do you go to?

Uhm The Long Beach District

Oh, haha, I don't even know where that is. I go to Sachem in Suffolk County, myself.

So you guys believe i have a good chance? like percentage wise? thanks again in advance.

It depends as this year Stony Brook is going crazy with admission`s decisions

Students from my school with 4.0 GPAs rejected... students with 2.8s accepted... it`s weird
