My Chances at the Ivies et Al.

<p>Okay, as most of you guys well know, the College Application process is drawing tediously close for us juniors and the panic is starting to set in. Here are my stats- can someone please comment on how my chances are and specifically if my extra curriculars are enough for a competitive Ivy League school?</p>

<p>GPA: (All GPA's unweighted- but yea taken the hardest possible courseload and taken the most classes humanly and technically possible)
Freshmen- 3.96/4.0
Sophmore- 3.87/4.0 (<--- But this is because I took BC Calculus as a sophmore, and ended up with a B+ as final. Got a 5 on the AP though. Btw does taking a crazy hard class as a sopmhore count as a "circumstance" to explain a drop in GPA? Other than this all my other classes were A's so that one class dropped me quite a bit)
Junior- N/A
Rank- My school doesnt rank. Its a Magnet High School in the Northeast (Ranked 101 in the country by Worth Magazine)</p>

<p>SAT's:
SAT I - 2350
SAT II's - 2C 800, Bio- 790, Physics-?
ACT - 33 (11 on writing section)
PSAT - Sopmhore year--> 214</p>

<p>Hooks:
1. Um... i really dont know? Does it seem like i have one- i know my Ec's are NOT SPECTACULar at all and are at best upper mediocre (right?0 it just seems so many CC kids are like... super super awesome at what they do and I really dont have anything THAT amazing)
2. Well my school is divided up in Academies for different fields. im in the Science academy and I am the first student ever to make it onto the Fed Team (suppsoed to be for the Business Academy). SO yea~ Im an asian interested in Business a PoliSci a lot? =D</p>

<p>Miscellaneous:
1. Reccs- 1 Really awesome recc from my Fed Team Coach, also taught me 2 years, 1 planning to get from my Multivariable Calc teacher~ mediocre i guess
2. Counselor recc- no clue.</p>

<p>List of Schools I Want To Attend:
1. Columbia College- *My parents work at the University Medical Center (free tuition if i get in- but i seriously doubt nor count on this helping me get in)
2. UPenn - Whaton (Or just Penn college)
3. NYU - Stern
4. Georgetown
5. Cornell
6. Johns Hopkins
7. Dartmouth
8. UChicago
9. Harvard
10. Yale -_-'</p>

<p>These are pretty much all what I perceive to be good match schools or my really reach schools. Can someone just kinda divy them up and tell me which ones I have a realistic shot of making based on the information aforementioned (especially my EC's because im under no illusion that every asian kid has similar stats to me). Thank you so very much my fellow CC'ers.</p>

<p>Columbia- yes
U Penn- maybe because it is Wharton
NYU- yes
Georgetown- yes
Cornell- yes
Johns Hopkins- yes
Dartmouth- yes
U Chicago- yes
Harvard- (unknown for anybody) otherwise maybe
Yale - Same as harvard</p>

<p>Your Ec's are outstanding. They will help you a lot. Hope this helped you a lot. Oh yeah, you should have a good chance of making it to Columbia especially because your parents work there. Trust me, it counts.</p>

<p>yes for everything except for U penn, Harvard and Yale. Those are maybe's because lots of people are like you. Otherwise you will get in every where else if you keep up the good work.</p>

<p>very impressive EC's. Everything else seems good too. you shouldnt worry at all about being rejected from anywhere at least. and you should have no problem with most of the schools you mentioned.</p>

<p>your 2350 is the first thing the schools will look at. That is an outstanding score.</p>
