My chances at these colleges?

Hi. I'm a high school senior nervous about getting accepted to college. Thanks for reading this.

I've taken two SATs thus far, neither of which I studied for.

First:
Reading: 800
Math: 540
Writing: 660
Total: 2000

Second:
Reading: 690 (I slacked because I already had the 800 -- does this matter?)
Math: 610
Writing: 670
Total: 1970

ECs: Volunteer at Boys and Girls Club (11-12) (20 hours per week during summer, during the school year when I can, usually on Teacher-Work days) Key Club (12), DECA (12), National Art Honors (10-12), Improv Club (?)(12), National Spanish Honors

Cumulative GPA (unweighted): 3.78

Counselor recommended I take the ACT because my skills are more veered towards it. Should I? Also, should I take the SAT? If I study, I could do well, but my schedule doesn't leave me much time.

I've taken 9 APs thus far. By the end of the year, I will have graduated with 6 more credits than I need to. I have 25 college credits from my community college (20 more by the end of this year) and 5 credits at the University of Washington.

I am a pretty great essay writer (except for timed tests- like the SAT. I ramble and get off topic... thus the lower score)
Senior course load: AP Chemisty, AP Calc AB, AP European History, AP Lit, AP Studio Art, News Production

My reaches: UVA, William and Mary, Reed, UChicago, USC
And the others: University of Washington, JMU (maybe)

What other schools might I consider/ qualify for?

Danke.

Are you a VA or WA state resident? Straight up, your reach schools are going to be a tough go unless you have some special category tag. THat might put you over. What did you get on the AP tests you took and how does your school do on APs, in general. What sort of high school is it in terms of gettin gkids in collee and where are you rank wise?

I have trouble categorizing you, as though an important piece of info is missing. Your course load is great, your grades for top flight colleges, not so good but depends on your school profile, SATs are in range, ECS not good, going to assume good, above average for selective college essays, and don’t know about teacher/counselor recs. Without a dash of something, I’d say it’s going to be a tough go with the reaches, but need more info here.

UChicago: High Reach
Wash U: High Reach
Reed: Reach
UVA: Low Reach

I’m honestly worried about how your SAT scores dropped so much and how your math score is too low. It shouldn’t really happen that way.

Try looking at some matches and safeties like Syracuse, Pepperdine or something.

I lived in Virginia for nine years, but I’ve been living in Washington for the past year. So Washington resident, I guess.

I’m not a great test taker when it comes to math… I’m actually pretty good at math but my brain gets muddled for whatever reason.

What are “good” ECs?

I have great recommendations and my AP exam scores are not awesome. I didn’t study for exams for a long time, also I didn’t expect to be applying to these schools. I applied for a scholarship program and got in. I’m almost positive it was for my essay and my recommendations because I had to be in the lower percentile for my grades, ECs. I come from a poor background and rich cultural background (Ashkenazi Jew heritage on my mom’s side) both of which I discussed in my essays. I haven’t done many ECs because of my family situation (no transportation/encouragement to exceed in school.) I hope that winds up favoring me.
