I have been looking at schools such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton etc but recently i have developed a fondness for Duke (I absolutely hate cold weather, and I live in Indiana, so the northeast seems unbearable). How hard are these to get into? I have a 2400 superscore (2280 + 2330). Also 4.0 (unweighted), a couple 800 subject tests (math 2 and chem). ethnicity=egyptian/white. extracurriculars=eagle scout, volunteer work, some research at a local university, JV tennis (4 years), youth group, grant commitees are the main things.

Top choices:
1. Stanford
2. Duke
3. Harvard
4. Yale

Being an eagle scout doesn’t guarantee anything. He has a solid shot at all of those, but plenty of people are eagle scouts. It’s a great accomplishment, but it does not make one “in” at Duke. However, your superscored 2400 might.

haha i didnt expect it to get me “in” automatically. however, i do participate in a fair number of other ECs. if its important, the two tests were: Dec 2010- 800M 800CR 680W (75/8) and Jan 2011- 800M 730CR 800W (80/11)
