My chances at: Tufts, Connecticut College, Middlebury, or Bowdoin?

I am a junior in high school and am wondering what my chances are at these schools.

GPA: 3.4 (I checked last year at the end of the year and thats what it was unweighted. It may have also gone up since then)
SAT: have not taken yet but have taken multiple practice tests with an SAT tutor and my average was about a 2000 i guess, maybe higher

Advanced classes:
-9th grade: honors french II
-10th grade: honors french III
-11th grade: french V (not honors but more advanced course if that helps), honors Pre-Calc, AP studio art

Extra Curricular:
-Ski club (9-11)
-Young Republicans (11)
-Model UN (11)
-Mentoring Program (9-11)
-Paragon Art Review Board (9-11)
-Winter Special Olympics Coach (11) community service

Athletics:
-soccer (9)
-football (10)
-lacrosse (9-11) i plan on playing in college and have already been in contact with the coaches at these schools. been recruited by some of the schools on my list

Other Information:
-I have a very strong art portfolio, and plan to major in either studio art or architecture (my teacher used to be involved with admissions at Maryland Institute College of Art and said I have an extremely strong portfolio)
-I attend a school in Maryland that is considered to be the top private school in the region
-Am very well-liked by teachers and can count on extremely good recommendations

Intended Major:
-Studio art or Architecture

Top choices:
-Tufts
-Connecticut College
-Middlebury
-Bowdoin

Other Considerations:
-Bates
-Colby
-Hamilton
-Trinity
-Williams
-Nazareth
-McDaniel

So what are my chances at any of those schools? I feel like they are all either reaches or matches, can anyone recommend some safety schools for me?

Like I said before, I am planning on playing lacrosse DIII, and have already been recruited by some of these schools, and in contact with all of the coaches. Will that help my chances significantly?

Thanks in advance for the help!

this is my list, but it doesn’t take into consideration your lax because i don’t know how that will affect you
-Tufts (very high reach)
-Connecticut College (reach)
-Middlebury (high reach)
-Bowdoin (reach)
-Bates (reach)
-Colby (low reach)
-Hamilton (reach)
-Trinity (high match)
-Williams (reach)
-Nazareth - very low match/easy in, probably with $20k scholarship. that’s what they offered me and my gpa is slightly lower and SAT is higher…of course, i’ve also taken 11 AP/college courses…so i don’t know how that figured into their decision. i had a similarly strong art portfolio (accepted to SAIC/Pratt at portfolio day). You should visit here before you go. The art department isn’t as strong as they suggest on the internet.
-McDaniel (low match)
chance me back?

thanks for the response. Hopefully lacrosse and my art portfolio will really help out, I would love to go to tufts. They won the DIII title last year so hopefully they are trying to keep that alive by putting more emphasis on recruiting haha

Your profile looks like mine with worse ECs. Good luck!

erm since you’re a junior you have lots of time to improve your grades and testing. really focus on your SATs or maybe consider taking the ACTs. i know i did a lot better on ACTs than my SATs.

for your ec’s, they’re okay. but make sure you have more leadership roles in them! or find a way to show your dedication. it’s okay to have less ec’s than this huuuge long list but at least you have to have invested a lot of time. :)

i mean… because your intended major is studio art/architecture i don’t really know how to judge you… buuut

-Tufts (high reach)
-Connecticut College (possible/match)
-Middlebury (reach)
-Bowdoin (reach, but better chances than middlebury/tufts)

Tufts - reach
-Connecticut College - match
-Middlebury - reach
-Bowdoin -reach

Other Considerations:
-Bates - reach
-Colby - reach
-Hamilton - reach
-Trinity - match
-Williams - reach
-Nazareth ?
-McDaniel ?

Is there something about this student’s profile that makes Tufts a higher reach than Middlebury or Bowdoin? I noticed a couple of you described Tufts as being a higher reach than both of those. I never would have considered Tufts harder to get into than Midd or Bowdoin. In fact, I would have thought the exact opposite. Does Tufts not like Lacrosse students?

You would probably be fine if you can get recruited for LAX and you get a 2000. Do you know you’re being looked at by coaches? Most of the coaches at these schools can tell you already who their picks will be next year.

Without being recruited, your top choices (Midd, Bowdoin, Williams, Tufts) all will want you to rank in the top 10% and have 2100 plus. Bates, Trinity, Colby like top 25% minimum and 2000 plus. Good luck!
