Im currently a junior with a 3.8 weighted GPA..3.4 unweighted and a 3.5 academic GPA..i am involved in a lot of clubs..250+ service hours..I have taken about 5 honors courses and will be taking about 5 more my senior year. I have taken the ACT twice..i got a 17 on my first try and a 19 on the second time..I think a 19 could possibly ruin my chances of getting in..what do you guys think?

Hey. Your weighted GPA won’t help/hurt you, and your extracurriculars will certainly be a plus along with the community service.

A 19 could hurt you. I’d suggest retaking the ACT a couple more times with a bit of test prep. If you can bring your score up just a few points then you should be O.K. Also, apply to UCF early. I’ve known of someone who got deferred with a 4.3 because she applied in January. Ideally, apply to UCF around early- mid November if possible and if you want to maximize your chances.

Good luck! :)

Edit: Also, try taking the SAT once or twice if possible with prep as well. Some people perform better on the SAT than the ACT(some people hate the ACT’s science portion). Work on building up speed in answering questions, and never leave anything blank on the ACT. On the SAT, don’t be afraid to guess if you have a hunch.

You can do it!

Thank you for the advice!! :)
