My chances at UChicago, USC, UVA?

I was accepted as a QuestBridge finalist a few days ago, allowing me to submit multiple early decision applications to a number of their colleges. If one of those I ranked accepts me, they agree to pay for my full tuition. However, I don't know if I should even bother applying to them all. If I do, that means I will have to complete 8 essays, the Common App, supplemental apps, and a financial aid form in a little over the week. I'm taking 5 AP classes. This will be a rough week.

However, I could just not do but I might be wasting an awesome opportunity. But maybe I'm not even a good enough student to be accepted.

My confidence is especially low after receiving my latest SAT score -- 30 points lower than my last. :( I didn't study for either SAT, but I figured my math and writing might improve because I had been practicing with them more before taking it. I did fine on my first test not knowing anything about the format or the difficulty.

My first SAT: (6/1)
Reading: 800
Math: 540
Writing: 660
Total: 2000

Second: (10/5)
Reading: 690 :(
Math: 610
Writing: 670
Total: 1970

My GPA (unweighted) is 3.78.

I've been a member of the National Art Honors Society and Spanish Honors Society.

I've taken a total of 9 AP classes.

Current classes: AP Chem, AP CALC AB, AP Euro, AP Lit, AP Studio Art, News Production

Extracurriculars: Volunteer at Boys and Girls Club (20 hours per week during the summer, sometimes during the school year) Key Club, DECA, Arts and Humanities

I'm a pretty good writer. My QuestBridge essay was really strong. I think it's why I was accepted... I left a few things blank on the app because I didn't look over it thoroughly, including two short responses. The GPA I recorded was .1 lower than my actual.

Should I even bother? Or should I just apply to one or two and pray I get accepted? It'd be slightly less stressful.

Also, I might take the ACT (because my English is way better than my math, and my science is pretty good.) Should I retake the SAT? If I find the time to study, I might do awesome...

Please assuage me!

Applying through QuestBridge (if I don't die) : Northwestern, UVA, USC, UChicago (the other require SAT subjects; I haven't taken any. Didn't do my research/expect to be accepted.)

Other colleges I'm considering: William and Mary, University of Washington (close to home; I have friends/family there.) Reed College

Thanks for reading my rambling. You're awesome.

Will schools like UVA meet your full need?

These schools are definitely reachs for you, even with your rigorous course load.

It may be better to focus on a few for the sake of essays. I don’t know offhand which don’t require SAT IIs.

Meet my full need as in tuition? If I get accepted into Early Decision through QuestBridge, yes.

I’ve also some college credits under my belt, including some from the University of Washington. I don’t know if that matters. I’ve taken four classes at the community college and one at UDub.
