I am just worried about the SAT II score…I did get a 4 on my ap junior english and 700 on verbal SAT I…do you think all other scores than this writing test would cover this SAT II score? Do I have a good shot? especially because i m from Kentucky?..
Thanks a lot.

I got a 640 in writing the first time, a 670 the second time, and 740 the third time. Just study your ass off for it, and retake it.

well i retook it and got 650..which is worse...so and it's december so i think im late for that..i dont kno...

A 650 isn't a bad score dude. I got into Harvard with a 670. I applied Early Action and they didn't receive my 740 retake score until AFTER I was accepted. Stanford probably would have accepted me with the 670 score too.

Therefore, a school like Berkeley DEFINITELY accepts people with a 650 score. In fact, I think that's about the average/higher-than-average score for Berkeley students.

o wow!! rooster, that's great~! can u tell me a lil bout ur stats? what factors do u think got u in? did u get some big awards or uh..essays or ecs??? n e how, congrats on ur acceptance to harvard

4.21 weighted GPA/ 4.0 Unweighted
1580 SAT I
SAT II: 790 Math IIC/750 Chem/740 Writing (for harvard a 650)
Valedictorian

ECs: President and founder of Science Club, extensive volunteer work, four years of varsity badminton, assistant-editor for school newspaper, Bay Area Quiz Kids (a televised thing)

I think I wrote really good essays and had awesome recs. My awards were fairly standard. I got an AP Scholar Award but that's about it. Perhaps the biggest thing that made me stand out was the fact that I went to a crappy public high school that didn't offer advanced classes and so I took tons of classes at a local community college to challenge myself. I also did a lot of cool projects in the science club.

P.S. I am a freshman at Stanford not Harvard. I didn't really like Harvard's social scene and the professors seemed too stuck up.

You have a decent out of state shot at UCSD and UCLA. Berkeley might be a reach because Koreans score the highest on the SAT.

Dang, rooster, your stats are kinda low there... haha jk man. Not bad.
