Since you are applying for engineering, I would say your chances aren’t the best for the honors college. I could be wrong, but I applied EA for computer science (about as competitive as engineering) with a 3.7 unweighted GPA and a 33 ACT and I didn’t get into the honors college, which actually surprised me. You can apply for the honors college again after first semester, however, so don’t lose hope! Best of luck to you!
It’s also really placed on class rank, especially right out of high school. You’ll need to be in the top five students. It’s really hard to get in, but the honors college isn’t isn’t super special. It’s just more work. Also, your chances significantly increase after your first semester.
