My Chances at Union?

I really like the school but not sure if i should apply ED or RD
-85% average (1 AP and 10 honors classes..... I had a huge upward trend with a 90% average my junior year)
-2000 SAT ( M - 660 CR - 640 W - 700)
- Lots of extra curriculars

What are my chances?

It’s gonna be close. Those numbers are close to what my kid had and he got waitlisted and then eventually got in. ED should give you better odds, though. Good luck

I’d say a better than average shot. Union loves “interest”. If it’s practically (travel, cost) possible, go on a tour, interview and info session. I’m not sure if all of the majors offer it, but I know the engineering program offered a separate (and really informative) visiting day and we went to that as well. I think the acceptance rate from RD to ED nearly doubles…or just shy of that, so if it’s the school you know in your heart is for you, and the $$ isn’t a major deciding factor, I’d go for it.

Thanks everyone for your responses I decided I’m going to apply ED.

Hi! Union is my dream college. I am applying ED II. Please please chance me!

O Levels - 6 A*s and 2 As
AS Level - 3 As and 1 C
SAT I - 1940 (didn’t submit)
Rank - school doesn’t rank but counselor said I am easily in the top 10%
GPA - we don’t have GPAs either (British curriculum)
Honors - Valedictorian (class of 2013)
Essay - Strong
Supplement - Average to strong (talked about an incident with my schizophrenic sister)
Recommendations - Stellar! Teachers and counselor know me really well

My ECs are mostly writing related. I was Head Girl in grade 11 and currently head the school Literary Society.

HOWEVER, I think I have a weak course load (only 3 A2 subjects) and I’d need almost a full ride.

I’d say you have a very strong shot! Early decision should definetly give you a boost too

Thanks! And good luck for your admission decision.

Hi, I am a Union College applicant for undergraduate admissions (Regular Decision)
Chance me please…

A level predicted grades: 3A’s
(I have an excellent 1st year record, and im currently in 2nd year of my A levels)
A-2 mid year report: 1A* and 2A’s
Rank: Top 10% of the students
Honors: High achievers award (Class of 2013)
Alot of Extracurriculars (Including MUN, Vice captain of school soccer team, Youth conferences etc)
Essay: Strong
Teachers and Counselor know me really well. Infact according to my counselor my CE is very strong.

What do you guys think?

@CollegeGuy007‌ I think your admission decision will largely depend on your course load and whether you need financial aid or not. What subjects do you do? The rest of your credentials look okay. Good luck!

Rest of my credentials are just “okay”? :frowning:
And Ya i need financial aid. My A level subjects: Math, Physics and Chemistry.
P.s i applied to Union College and NYU (Both NY and AD)

@cityrazzledazzle‌

@CollegeGuy007‌ sorry I’d been inactive on here these last couple of days, had to study for a quiz.
What I meant was, you have a tough course load which colleges like Union appreciate but I think your OL grades are slightly below par. This COULD hurt your chances. Many students apply with more than the usual compulsory 8 subjects on their transcripts and will therefore be more attractive as potential students. Your application otherwise looks strong.

Did any of you guys get accepted ?
I have similar stats as you guys and I am also thinking of applying to Union college.
