My chances at UT Austin (Not top 10%)

^ OP

the NHS is NOT an "extra that matters." It's worthless, essentially.
Extras that matter include awards on national levels (Intel/Siemens/Davidson Fellow, etc)

I got into the architecture dual degree architecture and architectural engineering major and I was not in the top 10%.

and hookem is right, NHS is usless.

Since it's easier to get in applying to natural sciences, is it easier to apply for the summer program? (apply texas -apply summer, fall, spring)? I know that everyone who is denied is considered for SFC but would it be better to apply straight for summer if you are borderline? I would actually prefer spending all summer in Austin. Especially since my sister will most likely be back home after graduating and other things going on

There is no straight consideration for summer. You apply for fall and if they can't take you for fall, they consider you for SFC. The summer application is for regular summer sessions, which are different and aren't for freshmen.

woot woot heres for applying outside of the top ten to GEOLOGY and Philosophy!
