My Chances at Vassar

I'm applying to Vassar ED I. I'm a white male from New Jersey.

GPA: 3.4 unweighted, 3.9 weighted
Taken highest possible placement in all courses since freshman year, 5 AP's senior year. Rank not reported.

ACT: 33

As far as extracurriculars go, I am very into music. I am the section leader and lead trumpet player in my school's marching band (state champs 06 and 07), the 'moonglowers' jazz band (state champs 07) and wind ensemble. I am also the president of the National Honor Society and French National Honor Society. I have worked as an intern in a state assemblywoman's legislative office since freshman year. I am co-president of my school's Envirothon team. I recieved an A in a summer course at U Maryland.

I have visited Vassar twice, and met with a music professor to discuss the jazz program. I also submitted an audition CD of myself.

Thanks for your input.

Your UW GPA is a little low. Do you have an upward trend? That would help. Being male will definitely help.

I don't have as much of an upward trend as I have stability. With hope, my 1st marking period senior grades will be an upward slope. What are your though on some of my other schools?

Hamilton, Pomona, Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, Skidmore

Thanks again

bump... chances?

A male at Vassar with really strong ecs, strong course load, high board scores... you have a really good shot at getting in
