My Chances at Williams College?

<p>Hey guys, I'm planning to ED for Williams College this year and I was wondering what you guys think my chances of getting in are.</p>

<p>My SAT total is 2170.
Math: 750 CR:700 W: 720 Essay: 11</p>

<p>The SATII's Im planning to submit are:</p>

<p>Japanese: 740
Korean: 760
Literature: 660</p>

<p>I took almost all H or AP Classes and I got 5 in AP Art History and 4 in English Lang/Comp.</p>

<p>My GPA is 3.75 unweighted but my ranking is 49 out of 626 seniors which is in the top 7%. </p>

<p>My extracurriculars are:
-Volunteering at Japan to help the earthquake refugees for 2 weeks
-Internship at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Arts)
-Volunteer at the local library and hospital
-Kendo (Martial Arts) since 2005 and placed 3rd in 3 different tournaments
-I play the piano and Im planning to submit my music
-President of the art magazine club and Zombie Survival Club at our school
-Volunteer at the local Buddhist temple at my house since 2003.
-Went to Korea to go to a camp that studies foreign diplomacy for 3 days.
-Went to an art school for many years and took many classes
-Published my drawings in books for professors in Japan
-Helped out at festivals for my Kendo dojo and also a Japanese school near my house every year
-Part of a group at our school that drew a mural on our school wall that promotes curing polio in developing countries.
-Part of a planning council in my magnet program for 3 years.</p>

<p>It’s a reach, like it is for everyone. You have a good class rank and great ECs. However, you should definitely work to raise that GPA. Good luck.</p>

<p>I think you have some good ECs to work with in terms of sculpting an interesting essay. You definitely have a lot of stories/foreign experience that you can bring out in your application.</p>

<p>I realize now that you already submitted your application so “chancing” isn’t necessary anymore, but should you feel compelled to send in an extra essay/letter of rec, taking an international perspective might bring in some dimension to your application.</p>

<p>How can you apply ED if the deadline has passed two weeks ago?</p>

<p>Might also look at Bowdoin and Holy Cross very good LAC’s but easier to get into. Holy Cross has beautiful campus only 1 hour from Boston.</p>
