My Chances at Williams College?

I'm a senior now, I'm 4 of 635 in my class. I have a weighted GPA of 5.17 and unweighted is 3.86.

660 CR, 690 M, and 710 W.
800 Bio-Ecology, 770 US History

AP Exams: 5 Bio, 5 APES, 5 APHG, 5 Calc AB/BC, 4 APUSH, 4 Psych, 4 Statistics

Senior Year Schedule: AP Chemistry, AP Economics, AP Gov/Politics, AP Physics, AP English IV, Honors Computational Biology (Dual Enrollment)

I will have taken a total of 15 AP Classes.

I attended Summer Ventures in Science and Math, run by the UNC system and wrote a research paper. The program is 4 weeks and very hands on.

Varsity Baseball, Varsity Cross Country, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science Honor Society (medaled at the regional level in forensics and ecology), Math Honor Society, BETA Service Club, Recycling Club, Science Olympiad, Brain Game Academic Quiz Bowl Team (Advanced to next round), I canvassed for a state House of Reps. Campaign, Volunteered at local charitable road races, food banks, and tutoring, Junior Marshell, Peer Mentor

North Carolina School of Science and Math Online- took honors genetics outside of school junior year and earned an A and my dual enrollment this year is here. It requires an application to get in and is very competitive.

I think you have a pretty good chance. Are you trying to participate in varsity athletics at Williams? You should definitely contact the college coach, which will greatly improve your chances. The only thing that could hurt you are your SATs. However, I think you have strong ECs.

Thank you very much, I was thinking about contacting the coach because I heard that could help. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should say in the letter to him? I was going to mention my height, weight, position, experience, etc.

Mmm… Retake the SAT, a 2060 isn’t gonna’ cut it unless you’re a URM or recruited athlete… And even if yiu are, admission to Williams is a competitive ordeal, so a better SAT score won’t hurt. By the way, 15 AP classes and 4th in your class is really impressive; your application is perfect, other than that SAT score(:

Does the SAT score hold less weight if I indicated a major in Biology? I got an 800 on the Biology SAT, a 5 on the AP Biology Exam, and my three classes at NCSSM and Summer Ventures at UNCC were in Biology. I’m really sweating this out because it’s too late to retake the SAT! :/

If you’re going to write to a college coach, mention your height, weight, experience, and statistics.

I’m guessing it’s for baseball, so include your batting average, home runs if any, stolen bases, etc.

And yes I would definitely apply as a biology major. An 800 subject, and 5 on the AP certainly doesn’t hurt your chances.

I would send him/her an email with your stats. Let them know when you applied etc. My DD applied ED and is a recruited athlete. Her stats are very similar to yours and she got accepted.

I am sure that the fact she is a recruited athlete was a hook. So I would recommend you use every hook that you have to gain admittance.

Thank you very much for your help! I’m drafting a letter to the head coach!
