My chances being accepted at UC

Im a 12th grade filipino male with a flat-out 3.0 GPA at cleveland highschool. my school is pretty prestigous, being a magnet school, and california distinguished high school. Many from my school get accepted into UCLA, CAL, etc. i am in the magnet program, with all honors classes. I have been on the swim team for all 4 years of high school. I am Definately not aiming for the higher end UC's, but i was wondering if i could even get accepted into any of the UC schools, with a 3.0 and a 1770 SAT score. I still have one SAT to take, to raise my score. any thoughts? any SAT score i shud aim for?

UCB/UCLA: Super Reach
UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Slight Reach
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Match

thanks for opinion

flopsy has your chances exactly right.

Please note that you really, really, really have to keep your UC GPA at 3.0 or above. If you drop below 3.0, then your odds of admittance to these last three schools go from match to reach (they don't even have to accept your application). But if you are above 3.0, (and submit everything else required--see below), then they are required to let you in one of the UCs. As it is, your current SAT I test scores will be good enough to get you in.

Also, are you aware that you have to take two SAT II tests to apply to a University of California campus? If you haven't taken these yet, cancel your retake of the SAT I and take the two SAT II tests instead. Without these, they may not even accept your application.

Here's the link that gives the details on applications requirements. You can find the application on any of the UC campus websites. Mail (or e-mail) yours in on November 1st.
