My chances (especially for Berkeley) because I love posting all over the place!

<p>Currently attending Los Rios Colleges and Berkeley Community College.
My stats:
In-state
Major: English
Major P/R: (2/4 although you only need 2 to declare an English major at Cal) Taking Shakespeare 1 at ARC and English 85B (equal to 45B at Cal) at Berkeley Community College this semester.
GPA: 3.44 (due to two C's I earned when I first started community college otherwise it would be more along the lines of 3.7+, but for the past year all of my grades have been A's)
Transcript:
-Last semester I took 16 units (originally 22), ended with all A's and two W's, which are explained below, and this semester I have 19 units (so far acing all my class)
-I have a few W's (7, 2 from last semester but one was for a math class that turned out to not be transferable so now I'm taking a transferable one for my IGETC and the other was an art class that I just didn't have time for because of work) but most were due to scheduling conflicts and/or the class was completed at a later time with an A
IGETC: Yes (will be completed by the end of the Spring semester)
Admissions essays: Pretty good (would rate the first two as A/B and my third as a B/B- but I'd be interested in someone reading over them and giving me their honest opinion)
E/C: Elected member of student council (although I'm not taking classes at that CC anymore), member of Transfer Club, member of Poet's club, English tutor, worked in my sister's classroom as an assistant while taking a semester off from school</p>

<p>Applied to: Cal, UCLA, UCD, UCSB, UCSC</p>

<p>My goal is Cal but UCLA would be nice too. UCD, UCSB and UCSC I'm considering my match/safety schools. What do you guys think my chances are?</p>

<p>Cal: reject
UCLA, UCD, UCSB, UCSC: accept</p>

<p>I kind of share your Cal sentiment =[</p>

<p>I was thinking that if I get rejected I could always appeal with my updated grades... (with the way my classes are going I'll have close a 3.7 at the end of this semester)</p>

<p>can W hurt ur chances? i'm transfering in one year so i hadn't had the luxury of a W.</p>

<p>Not really, only if you have a ton that are unexplained.</p>

<p>no love? :(((((</p>

<p>Hey, someone tell me my chances before I get all crazy.</p>

<p>Cal see's your attempted 22 units, and ending up with 2 W's. Now you're taking 19 units, and nothing assures them that you'll finish the semester off without any W's.</p>

<p>With your mediocre GPA, I don't like your chances with CAL.</p>

<p>However, I woudln't be surprised if UCLA admitted you if all your prereqs listed on assist.org are finished by the end of this semester.</p>

<p>One of the W's was in a non-transferable course that a counselor advised me was transferable (math for IGETC, now I'm taking a stats class) and the other I had to drop because of a job scheduling conflict :/ But if we're going to include non-transferable then add 2 units for a spreadsheet class I was taking.</p>

<p>I explained it in the Cal supplemental so hopefully that appeases them... but let's imagine that they don't care about W's, what do you think then?</p>

<p>Your gpa might be a factor for CAL , and maybe your Ws,</p>

<p>For UCLA and the others your Ws will not matter.</p>

<p>I have 19 Ws and it did not matter......... </p>

<p>I would say UCLA-Match</p>

<p>Others safety</p>

<p>Cal==reach.</p>
