No highjacking threads. I’d say high reach. Don’t do ED.

I wouldn’t say high reach. I mean there’s a chance you would get in. Maybe a higher SAT score would increase your chances. But make your essay amazing and your SAT score probably wouldn’t matter that much.

@ImJasT It would better for him to hold off ED and try to get up his SAT/ACT scores.

@Spirral . true, that makes sense but some colleges accept more applicants if they apply earlier. I know a college that accepts 7% more applicants for EA/ED than regular decision

@ImJasT It is true that colleges tend to have higher acceptance rate in EA/ED applicants, but his current SAT score is below 25th percentile of average SAT score of accepted applicants(I may be off by a little).

I’d say apply early. Make your essay great. Provide additional information, a resume and anything that the common app allows to show there’s more to you than test score. Good luck.
Only based on numbers it’s hard to “chance”. Tell your story.

thanks everyone… i am not EDing yet

You have some decent ECs but ultimately it’s your stats that will keep you out as a Korean American. Your SAT is low and so is your UW GPA. It’s definitely a high reach for you. You’ll have to write stellar essays, but if you can improve your SAT to around 2100 it’ll make things easier on you.

Dartmouth: no chance

Do good 1-2 years elsewhere and try to transfer if you like Dartmouth a lot.
