What do you guys think?

dang that sounds like some good stats
how’s your essay though? I think alot of it hinges on what/how you write and how you package yourself
But definitely you’re impressive…really impressive

wowwww Further IB Maths SL and 5.43 GPA…and 1rst in state science competitions… Ok it is like this:
You have a really reallllllly good change of getting admissions to Stanford. I mean your GPA and SAT meet the demands. Your extra curricular activities easily meet the admission demand. Assuming you dont make a blunder in the essay, I am pretty sure you are getting in.

One of my friends recently got into Stanford. He got a good GPA, good SAT scores and won some random science research competition. Quite good but nothing exceptional I suppose.

But one little question- Why aren’t you applying to MIT? You seem to be an able candidate.

:D Cheers!

Ok thx guys. I was a little worried about the SAT because i heard most people with a 2300 or less don’t get in. It’s nice to know that the essay is my only concern.

Xenekaro, I’m not applying to mit early cuz they have early decision and i like stanford better anyway.

^Be more careful with the research. The last time I checked, MIT still has non-binding EA.

If you end up applying to Stanford early, the odds are that you’re going to be worrying about college on the April 1st decision day.

Most people with 2300 or less don’t get in.

At any school with a sub 10% admit rate, most students with just about any metric you can think of don’t get in.

Your are an ORM, that further complicates things. If you’re from CA or another overrepresented state, well, good luck.

You have a shot, but frankly, most kids on this board don’t have a clue. Have your apps for other schools ready.

Worth a shot, but Redroses is right.

Stanford actually has a mandate that they must take a large proportion of CA residents, so being from instate won’t hurt. (Around 42% of students are from in-state.)

Your stats look fine, you will just need some luck and a convincing essay!

Well…I’m not from california so…should i be worried?

Fauve is 100% incorrect. Stanford has no such mandate and is working to reduce the number from CA.

What state are you from?

I’m from Texas.
